It was very linear but the design of VR call for that. Especially if you want very good interaction.

4A Games and MachineGames both have an open level philosophy mixed with more linear sequences, and I think people expected that.

Like I said, really curious.

At least a third of UX problems could be solved if people read and followed this excerpt of Apple's *1987* Human Interface Guidelines. (And the first org that should take this seriously is 2025 Apple, whose writing standards have dropped dramatically.)

My thought is how they design "interaction". Is that 9% of all chats or 9% of all messages? Like if I have a conversation with the bot, do I have a 1/10 chance of it telling me something Bad or does that mean every 10th message will be Bad?

Single player content in a fighting game is cool, but the structure of World Tour was a huge mistake. I'm sure people like all the character interaction stuff with your create a character, but IMO FG single player should be more character agnostic. Design a universal thing and let you play whoever.
I’m kinda mixed on this cus i liked it when fighting games used to regularly have more singleplayer content outside of arcade mode but at the same time, like, i understand (and don’t think a lot of ppl realize this) that’s from a time the genre wasn’t GAAS and instead the SP experience ppl (cont.)

I worked for 30 years with web development, last 20 years with interaction design. It took some time though to identify people that will help create good solutions for the users, no matter what the technical, political or ethical limitations are.

I truly hate the “We are trying to have as little human interaction as possible” design philosophy of every McDonald’s I have been in since 2020

Admittedly I’ve only been in a few, but they’ve all been like this
The inside of our local McDonald's was redesigned and now has a bunch of kiosks, no counter, and just a window where people pick up their orders like a cafeteria. It's basically a drive thru kitchen with an inside walk up window.
What's weird about the McDonald's pricing story is that while they're clearly reconfiguring to raise their price floor, their stores don't reflect it at all. They've taken countless buildings that, inside, vaguely resemble a restaurant, and turned them into...eating facilities.

I loved it. Feels like an evolution of the Telltale formula despite no environmental interaction or character control. Strong voice work, design, animation. Some endgame outcomes don't make sense and feel too heavily tied to romance - review soon!

I went to university and studied interaction design and graphic and when the environment organisation he "works for" needed a upgrade on their webpage and my mothers spouse was "Thats what Lexi studies she can help" he LITERALLY waved his hand and "Thats not something she can do"

they don’t purposely design their system to quickly fix road issues, but they did design a system where basically every complaint and public-government interaction has to be documented. but, that system doesn’t allow for file-and-forget. it keeps going with ceaseless motion until resolved.

In general I think how they handled QRTs is almost the only design angle Bluesky got right, but the specific interaction of

From my limited interaction with turn based RPG players, it went from "Don't use it if you don't like it" to "Part of the fun IS breaking the game" as if that's not a damning indictment of the design.

Barely even a game at that point if one strategy beats all of the 'challenge' effortlessly.

Prototyping with AI & Fostering Creative Confidence | Takashi Wickes
Join IDEO's Mina Seetharaman as she talks with Takashi Wickes, designer and AI innovator, about integrating AI into the creative process via AI prototyping. Takashi focuses on topics like fostering collaboration, maintaining curiosity, and taking a playful approach in design work. This conversation is from a live recording of IDEO's Creative Confidence Podcast. Key Takeaways: Treat AI as a collaborator, not a replacement, and keep diverse voices at the table. Use a playful, experimental mindset to explore AI safely and creatively. AI can inform ideas but cannot capture actions, emotions, or edge-case insights. Early prototyping helps stakeholders experience AI firsthand and drives buy-in. Focus on qualitative insights, like user feedback, not just efficiency metrics. Share ideas openly: creativity thrives when ideas are exposed and collaborated on.
