Ubuntu VM, running with:
vftool v0.3
canonical multipass 1.5.0 (HyperKit)
multipass is intel-only

Docker desktop hides its VM away somewhat as an embedded thing. See github.com/moby/hyperkit
There isn’t an Apple official hypervisor, if that’s what you mean by native.
So if you want a VM (no docker) see OpenBox. Or VMWare and Parallels offer commercial offerings
