#htmx
If your input
keeps resetting
during polling,
you do not need a rewrite.

Add hx-preserve
and an id.

HTMX 2.0 will keep
the DOM node’s state
while allowing
content swaps
around it.

Played around with the alpha #htmx 4. Very rough around the edges - it's not going to be released for a year - but wanted to get an idea of major changes down the line. Probably the most impactful is explicit inheritance, not a bad thing but maybe larger codebases might need a shim.

This week, we will discuss Django, popular Python libraries in 2025, MCP servers in Python, asyncio on free-threading Python, HTMX 4, adopting LLM in a startup, a deep dive into the recent AWS outage, UUIDv7, CSS gotchas, and more! 🥸

FastHTML’s philosophy is clarity. Use HTML, energize it with HTMX, and write your logic in Python. With HTMX 2.0, hx-preserve and hx-values remove friction so you can ship faster.

My plans on Saturday

Expectations: play around with templ+htmx.

Reality: change the heating element in a washing machine, make a lot mistakes, as I do it the first time.

It feels like talking to a confident helper that doesn't have a clue of what it is doing. Place where I didn't use #htmx are using #htmx. It messes with the templates but is convinced that it is faithful to the given html design. Anyway my job is to expose AI models limit anyway #buildinpublic

Make an AI model work with my stack ( #Golang, #HTMX, #Templ, #Bob) is a waste of time. He can't create simple components from an html. It's struggling so much with #Templ.
I just wasted 1h, I should have done it myself 😠 #buildinpublic

Was thinking about having an arbitrary language CLI to scaffold HTMX projects. But it seems like structurally htmx is much closer to being a spec than a lib. In theory it can one day not exist, if say html6 were little richer. so a lib for a Spec/Protocol doesn't really make sense
