Wasn’t there a very similar murder involving Gene Hackman and his wife? I find that too odd for fast wrap-up!

This year we’ve lost David Lynch, Val Kilmer, Michelle Trachtenberg, Gene Hackman, Diane Keaton, Michael Madsen, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Peter Greene, Robert Redford, Brian Wilson, Ozzy Osbourne, Jane Goodall, Anthony Geary, Garth Hudson, and Rob Reiner. What a brutal year.

// It really hurts my heart that Udo Kier, Michelle Trachtenberg, Gene Hackman, Val Kilmer, Joe Don Baker, James Carter Cathcart, Julian McMahon, Takaya Hashi, Hulk Hogan, Terence Stamp, Diane Keaton, Robert Redford, Diane Ladd, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa and Jeffrey Garcia died.. 😢

It’s also not just the deaths but the manner with which they occurred.

Hackman, Trachtenberg, Jamal and Reiner ALONE were tremendously tragic for a variety of fucked up reasons.

And ones like Lynch and Ozzy were more likely to be coming sooner than later but still so sad.

The cast alone is worth the price of admission, even with the ridiculous names. Gene Hackman as…Avery Tolar?

Sometimes I just refuse a movie outright if it doesn’t have Gene Hackman.

And Gene Hackman, so grim.

We lose Gene Hackman, his wife Betsy Arakawa (whose 66th birthday is actually today), and their dog Zinna at near the beginning of this year.

We lose Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Reiner at the end of it.

2025 sucks!

The Coppola Deep Cut That Shaped Paul Feig’s New Sydney Sweeney Thriller The Housemaid
The eavesdropper he is referring to is a Hackman character named Harry Caul. Harry considers himself to be a surveillance expert in the Coppola movie and detests the term “bug man.” Nonetheless, Harry does earn his living by placing wiretap bugs inside phones and other ingenious locations. The way Harry sees it though, he’s not responsible for what his clients do with the conversations he records.

I’m pretty devastated about Rob Reiner. I never saw a character of his I didn’t love, never watched a movie he made and was disappointed. This is even worse than what happened to Gene Hackman

Soon, thefts of vigango became rampant. Their prices skyrocketed. Tourists brought them home from vacations. Wealthy art connoisseurs and celebrities, including Andy Warhol and Gene Hackman, bought them for their collections. (6/14)

Christ, I not realised Rob Reiner and his wife had been murdered?! By their son?! I'd assumed from the tributes I saw earlier he'd passed of old age.

That's the same sort of wallop as Gene Hackman dying in such a needlessly horrible way.

So even our reaction to his evil post serves his purpose: stealing the spotlight from Reiner even in death.
So many of Trump's generation were people who were beloved & made cultural differences for the better: Diane Keaton, Gene Hackman, David Lynch, Robert Redford, so many others this year.
