I did get a great view of the new Portal North Bridge over the Hackensack. NJ transit windows are so dirty nowadays that I haven't seen the construction so clearly in a while

We owe so much to our seniors — the generations who built and strengthened communities like Hackensack.

Saw an anti-Mamdani billboard in Hamilton NJ: “Hey Jersey, are you ready for a million ex-NYC neighbors?” As if any of those folks are going to buy a 1962 split level in Hackensack. “Not living in New Jersey” is intrinsic to NYC identity.

A friend told me that everyone is voting by provisional ballot until new machines can be brought in later this morning.

There were also bomb threats in Paterson, Newark, Hackensack, and Lodi.

All towns with a majority Democrat population.

Just a Republican scare tactic to keep Dems from voting.

Re, Bergen: Sherrill needs to be putting up 53% or more to be having a good nights particularly running up the score in places like Ridgewood, fort Lee, Hackensack.

If she’s putting up 52% or so, we’re in trouble. Anything less than 52% is a GOP win

Paterson, Hackensack, North Brunswick, Newark: large Black and immigrant communities. Much less true of Ridgewood, Lake Como, Fair Lawn.

Back in Jersey in 2021 (around the height of our movement against ICE detention) the local police used tear gas and smoke bombs on immigrant rights activists in wealthy-ass Hackensack. These forces have arsenals that they're itching to use anywhere on anyone as soon as they get the chance.

When I first moved to NYC in ‘95, and was driving to Hackensack for work, I listened to Curtis & Kuby during my commute. Sliwa was almost always wrong, but less wrong than most Republicans.
