Because corporate news exists to push a right wing message and agenda. Now the right wing elites are not satisfied with allowing some semblance of propriety and want to burn down those small guardrails

to be clear, this is not just a problem with ChatGPT or AI in general, but a corporate and regulatory climate so bent on inflating value and so immune from consequence that the human cost is just a rounding error. Monstrousness is not just inevitable; it’s required.

Gonna be a lot worse this time around. They may just take the machines like they tried last time. There’s zero guardrails. Zero.

it wasn't that jobs paid really well, it's that we had much stronger economic guardrails allowing people to do more with less
People wildly overestimate the economic security experienced by past generations. There's no period in American history where significant numbers of young people were just handed high paying jobs. Nostalgia for a time that never existed is a huge problem.
Why Nikki Haley’s son went radical: His generation inherited insecurity.
I profile Nalin Haley, a fascinating young man, who I believe will likely play an important role in conservative politics in years to come.

“Not only does it fail to address the impending explosion in working Americans' health insurance costs, it also lacks the necessary guardrails to stop President Trump from ignoring the law and withholding funds for important priorities. That is why I am voting NO.”
I’ve voted 7 times to reopen the government in a way that holds Trump accountable for his lawlessness and prevents a health care crisis.
I’m prepared to work toward a compromise, but this “deal” before us does not come close to meeting those terms. Voting NO.

Hearing Republicans complain about high costs of insurance premiums really makes me sick, because THEY are the ones who, in 2017, removed the guardrails AND safety nets to rein in costs. In the first set of tax cuts, they pulled out two critical piece of the ACA that were meant to skyrocket prices

We are headed toward martial law and the end of our democracy and I will never forgive the people in power who every step of the way told us it was all just fine and everything would work out swell as long as we kept pretending that nothing we have actually seen with our own two eyes was happening

We operate as a poverty agency for no reason other than that they want us to suffer and live in "trauma" as Vought so cleanly put it. Trusting them with zero guardrails is beyond betrayal.

This is cover-your-ass bullshit.
To be clear, I never supported using only ACA premium hikes as a basis for rejecting a GOP budget. The fact that Trump ignored the 2024 budget and impounded funds should have been enough for Dems to demand guardrails before supporting an appropriations bill.

Fascinating inconsistencies exist in AI guardrails. ChatGPT won't identify a celebrity in a pic, citing policy on identifying real people. Gemini does.
But Gemini won't help rewrite a paragraph critical of Trump, claiming it aims to be politically neutral, while ChatGPT has no such constraint.

The next time you hear MAGA supporters ranting about “socialism,” simply remind them of this: 👇
Democratic socialism is simply capitalism with guardrails, an economic system that protects people from oligarchic abuse and corruption while ensuring prosperity is shared rather than hoarded.

The only true regulatory/policy solution is that companies must be fully liable for the products they create, especially when they’ve ignored every warning, done virtually no safety QA, and are pushing this into schools and hospitals. Then we can talk about “guardrails” in the model.
