Sorry! Yes, same or better depth of sequencing. We're still getting some telomere-telomere reads, and LOTS of duplex reads, but N50s of 3-5kb instead of 30-40. Same technician, same HMW gDNA prep protocols, same gridion - sometimes running concurrently!

This is exactly what we wanted. But the facility we use who, as opposed to us, has a Gridion (maybe now a PrmoethIon - this was 2 y ago), wanted 1 microgram of DNA or more and that's a lot.

Y'see, there's the issue. The sequencing kit and flow cell matters a lot more than the sequencer, especially when considering MinION vs GridION.

My old lab had a GridION that the sequencing team named Franklin. I never got to use it but it was an extremely cool piece of kit to have floating around

🧬🔬👨🏻🔬Lovely play today at University of Westminster with Oxford Nanopore Technologies, the GridIon and the PromethIon. Trying to design how to find the best combination to start testing it on whole human genomes and doing some methylation as well.
