the MEMORIES! i made this 8-9 years ago. gameboy-esque platformer demo with parallax scrolling. very simple engine built from the ground up in vanilla JS/HTML. i'm thinking about rebuilding it in #godot and turning it into something really cool. stay tuned???? #gamedev #godotsquared

had some free time and got the very very very early bones of this up and running in #godot. wasn't bad at all reusing existing tiles and sprite sheet. already thinking about best ways to organize things. probably time to make a spec document... #gamedev #godotsquared

godot progress this week: ran through several tutorials, including excellent 2D/3D game creation intros. it's early days, but engine was easy to pick up, and seems like there's a lot under the hood for later. looking forward to starting to slowly make my own stuff from scratch soon! #godotsquared

adding some colour. wonky run animation that i'll probably redo. figuring out scaling. need to clean up momentum and camera movement. sprite may be too big. only about 1000 things on my list. 😅 #gamedev #godot #godotsquared

this took much longer than i would like to admit. rink texture fixed, added very basic digital movement/momentum. no collision or puck control YET. hockey stick disappears if it's too far away from the camera too (??!!). but it's something. #godotsquared #gamedev

i'm going to try to learn (the basics of) godot over my holiday break. i've had an interest in game dev on the side for a while, but mostly used javascript/canvas and that's just not sustainable. we'll see how far i get! #godotsquared
