#geekomancy
One of my favorite show of the 2000s and a big influence on me in general as well as the Geekomancy series in specific.

I bought "Geekomancy" after seeing this post and like it so far! (Who could resist "Clerks meets Buffy"?)

My profile always has what I'm currently reading, and I'd love to make that a Bluesky thing.

My fiction is genre-bending action adventure featuring found families and inclusive casts. I'm best known for the Ree Reyes Geekomancy series, an urban fantasy series where fandom is a magic system.

For the last year, I've been working as a freelance designer on the forthcoming rpg Daggerheart.

New introduction:

I write science fiction and fantasy as Michael R. Underwood (Genrenauts, Geekomancy, etc.) do game design as Mike Underwood (currently: Daggerheart), and I'm developing a new actual play show.

Previously, I was a cohost of @speculate.bsky.social and @skiffyandfanty.bsky.social.

Benefits of a hometown visit include seeing my books in-stock at Morgenstern's. Coincidentally, they now have signed copies of GEEKOMANCY and CELEBROMANCY. ;)

I just want to point out that Mike's books are remarkably clever and very fun.

I read the first Geekomancy book before we were friends, and that books tells you so much about Mike's creative brain (it's delightful).

Genrenauts is equally brilliant work.

Also: Mike's TTRPG work is top notch.

Geekomancy is my debut, reissued a couple of years ago with a new cover and minor updates (removing references to the TERF series, etc.). It's followed by Celebromancy and Hexomancy, as well as the novella Attack the Geek (set between Celebro and Hexo). And Hexomancy has a strong, conclusive end.
