Strigeid metacercaria shenanigans continuing. Cysts were isolated from Erpobdella octoculata leeches. Polarized for visualization of double-layered cyst wall. One cercaria got out of the cyst, received mugshot as well. Barcoding primers are on the way. #parasitology #FlatwormFriday #invertebrate

Late #FlatwormFriday. My @inaturalist.bsky.social platyhelminth ID #10000 is this weirdo. Who it might be? Looks like one of European microplanids with several ocelli. Send samples! www.inaturalist.org/observations...

It's FlatwormFriday. Here, have this suspiciously long Dugesia sp. from Catalonia. They seems to be asexual, no gonophore present but they are large, they looks almost like sexual specimens. Histology/genetics needed here. I need to be careful with them, I have only 4 specimens 🌿 #invertebrate 🧪

SOI found Xenoturbella at methane seeps near the coast of Chile today. Lost socks available at www.youtube.com/watch?v=3c34..., I hope we will see more of them today. GBIF is negative on them in this area.I missed some papers or is this brand new location for them? 🌿 #invertebrate #FlatwormFriday 🧪
