Many Iraqis seized by the US-trained Special Police Commandos were never seen again; or turned up in mass graves or morgues, often far from where they’d been taken. Bodies were found in mass graves near Badra, 70 miles away — well within the combat range of Nightstalkers' MH-47 Chinook helicopters.

This is a particularly tiresome week.

No, I didn’t kill innocent Iraqi civilians in Fallujah. I don’t deserve your discount. Find some murderous SOB.

It's an "even if" argument. They paint him as a Nazi. One smear kid called an enlisted Marine grunt in Fallujah a nepobaby because he used the G.I. Bill & his parents helped him out. Jesus would be smeared if he didn't pay dues to the establishment.

Sorry for your loss. Fallujah was rough.

Been sayin it for years. Ok gun-obsessed tough guy, go join the real army and fight in Kandahar and Fallujah and get back to us. We'll see how tough you really are.
These cos-patriots gotta chill

It's ridiculous! If your only source was the r/burlington subreddit you'd think the entire city was wiped out by fentanyl and homeless folks a dozen times over and resembled 2004 Fallujah.

Just watched a harrowing documentary on Fallujah, dating back to '07. It focused on the brave U.S. soldiers who survived it (but also didn't shy away from how Iraqis suffered). It seemed to avoid bringing up the terrible decision by the Bush administration that led to that terrible situation.

There should be a twitter or bsky poll picture game ala Hot or Not called “Fallujah or Burbank?”

I can’t get past how stupid these Fallujah cosplayers look wandering around Home Depot parking lots in camo on a hair trigger

Zenith Passage and Fallujah killed it, and Tracheotomy is worth keeping an eye on if you dig slam.

At 17, Jose Barco was the youngest in his unit in Iraq. After a 2004 car bomb near Fallujah, he saved two fellow soldiers, suffering severe burns and earning a Purple Heart. Now he faces deportation.

Should a war hero be deported? The complex dilemma around one convicted vet.
When noncitizen veterans make bad choices after their time in the military, they serve prison sentences and then face deportation. Is that fair?

Militarism is not the way forward.

Today is the United States Marine Corps 250th Birthday. Tun Tavern on November 10, 1775.
Twenty years ago, I was on the other side of the planet, living with the Iraqi Army on the east side of Fallujah.

Happy Birthday to the US Marine Corps!

On this day in 1775, the US Marine Corps was founded in Philadelphia.

Whether it be on the beaches of Iwo Jima or in the streets of Fallujah, Marines have fought and died to protect our way of life.

Thank you for your service.
