BRUSSELS IS DANGEROUS! IS IT THOUGH? Brussels has developed a reputation as a "dangerous" city, with growing public anxiety about safety, crime, and urban decay. Yet the statistics paint a different picture: violent crime has steadily decreased over the past two decades,. So why does tear persist—and even grow—while risk declines? The question of [unl safety calls for nuance. The anatomy of fear isn't just about danger, it is also about: - IDENTITY - PRIVILEGE - DOMINANT NARRATIVES It's important to bring together personal stories and experiences together with forensic data in order to forge the coherent picture, detect urgencies and undertand the city we live in That's why we reach out to you with open call to participate in 3 days workshop in which: - WE UNACK FEAR, PERCEPTION AND DIFFERENT REALITIES - REWRITE THE NARRATIVES - CRAFT VISUAL EDUCATIONAL OUTPUT TO COMMUNICATE OUR FINDINGS WITH FACILITAION OF AN ENGAGED ARTIST MARKHAEVA FOR WHOM: Anyone who is touched by themes such as fear, [in]security, control, and resistance, and wants to explore these through artistic research.
