Hey @martin.social, just saw your Universe keynote (online sadly), great job!

We have extracted the bluetooth proxy code from Home Assistant into a standalone lib allowing you to use PyFluff/bleak with ESPHome Bluetooth Proxies without HA, check out: bleak-esphome.readthedocs.io/en/latest/us...

also if every automotive infotainment system was replaced with nothing and every smart appliance's network-facing firmware was replaced with esphome the world would straight up be better.

I'm still astounded that random IoT companies haven't just started shipping esphome on their devices

Už to vali. Postaveno na Laskakit Meteo Mini, což je bezva destička.
Kdybych se naučil pájet a viděl na blízko, tak je to hotové za pár (desítek) minut.

"Naprogramováno" chatováním s Perplexity v esphome, takže mqtt a HA integrace zadarmo 😂

Does it actively poll them or how does it work? I've been trying to get the same end result through esphome on some power plugs and then mosquitto -> custom exporter but these plugs have some trouble with the WiFi

ESPHome is amazing! OTA updates and all!
This is a quick clock I wiped together for my son. It uses an esp8266 and a MAX7219 to display info from Home Assistant, currently just time and the live outside temperature.

My site is vdbx.io where I design custom PCBs out of the bus I live in. Currently working on a line of hardware for Home Assistant meant for off-grid automation, starting with a power shunt running ESPHome. The FLIP-C3 mainboard is an ESP32-C3 with a 60v tolerant buck converter.

Replacing some thermostats with these cool esp32 panels. This is...oddly okay for being smart home nonsense, I am pleasantly surprised at esphome.

I put custom firmware (esphome) on some Feit bulbs because I wanted them to stop phoning home to a server in China every time I wanted to turn them on or off but it's caused some issues. I think I let them get too bright. Thus the z-wave ones.

Nullstring's #3dprinter loadcell-weighing horizontal spool roller

it uses Vincent Groenhuis' Universal Auto Rewind springs and hubs!

transmits spool weight to a local #epaper display and #homeassistant via #ESPHome, it can even do gpio filament runout switches!

Then realized that the Bluetooth signal doesn't reach the server. No problem... Esphome can act as a Bluetooth proxy for HA. Take an esp32-c3, copy paste the config, flash and boom. Signal reach and data flowing again.

Just wild how convenient and easy they make this setup.

And #homeassistant and #esphome experiment 2, a PIR, light meter and mmWave unit for my office. So easy in esphome. Custom PCB from JLC PCB.

I will try ESPhome and see how far it takes me. But I feel like it may be rather bespoke in that I would have to program each ESP32 with its unique purpose. If I gave ten ESP32’s doing slightly different things, I am thinking it may be more flexible to build a script which covers everything needed,
