Out of curiosity, Another messaging system that uses Elixir is Discord: elixir-lang.org/blog/2020/10...

There are more cases there as well.

WhatsApp uses Erlang, which runs in the same VM Elixir runs and share many abstractions, which is OTP.

I’m very happy to share I got a new opportunity to work as a smalltalk programmer 🤩

I’m sad about leave elixir and the Erlang world, but I’m sure I’ll become a better programmer in the insane world of moldable development 😁

Stay tuned for my next artworks 🤌

The Lotus Lamp, or Splitting the Mountain to Save Mother, burns bright in Chinese #mythology. The goddess Sanshengmu defied heaven to marry the mortal Liu Yanchang, bearing a son, Chen Xiang. For this, her brother Erlang Shen cast her beneath Mount Hua. Sixteen years later, Chen Xiang, 1/2

Interesting paper showing that stackful coroutines (used for example in Go and Erlang) are not intrinsically slower than stackless coroutines (used for example in Rust, Python and JavaScript):

“it’s easy: you just write a distributed map-reduce function in Erlang!”
a key reason why Signal and Bluesky have done pretty well is because they're actually really easy to use: I desperately wish more people in the open source and responsible technology world would look at those examples and go "huh, maybe we should do that too"

This is why many financial and healthcare are turning to Erlang and Elixir. Both are built for fault tolerance, concurrency, and distributed reliability, with a track record of powering some of the world’s most resilient systems, ensuring services remain online even under extreme conditions.

Improving/Showing Skill <---------> Solving new puzzles

Feel like those are two divergent ways to do gameplay that can be exclusive or combined. Like a greek hero killing a monster with hot lead trick vs Erlang/Beowulf slaying a dragon cuz he's skilled or strong.
