one take i've always railed against is that "the writers didn't know what to do with zenos in enw" - i don't think that's true! resurrecting a character is no small narrative choice and i strongly believe it was set up in the very early days of her development. her role in enw made perfect sense.

she stares down the player in a way that's very confronting, very fourth-wall-breaking. it's like her stare is reaching through the screen to *you.* this really stood out in the royal menagerie but it's very prevalent in her enw scenes too.

there are absolutely primary npcs that the writers don't know what to do with at this point (rhymes with "prions") and they aren't given the huge plot-changing, lingering, introspective moments that z gets in enw. a lot of the fabric of the story weaves back to her actions. bcause she's my superstar

i get irked when her aimlessness in enw is taken at face value instead of being a deliberate choice to show that she has no community, no greater purpose, and no home. and i think her putting off the fight isn't just "it's not the right time" but an unspoken "it's not what i want from you after all"
