I was reminded of this conversation today as for 2 years I’ve been ‘enlivening’ school dropoff by shouting Big Tree! every time we pass one particularly large yew. Small has never not rolled her eyes, but today I was distracted when we passed and she seemed genuinely weirded out it hadn’t happened 🤷♀️

There are a couple on the roads up here, but the first one I saw up close was at the city dump next to the recycling dropoff bin.

Kid proceeds to wake up at 5am and goes to wake me up.
I turn on the TV for kid so I can go back to sleep for another hour (I have the remote).
Kid cries because I have to be awake.
I watch dinosaurs on TV with blurry eyes.

My wife is preschool PTO chair and organized a food drive (something she plans to do quarterly now) along with the regular events they organize, due to worries about the SNAP shutdown. We did a dropoff this morning of almost everything we collected (we still have two locations to do a pickup from)

With catchers, wondering if there's a point on that list where there's a steep dropoff. It seems that maybe 25% of teams have black hole at catcher. So is Realmuto's 19th closer to being #15 (league average) or #24, if that makes sense?

I love our school bus too. The driver is soo good. He waits and makes sure the kids make it safely across the street towards our house before turning off the red lights and putting down the paddle. Also I don't have to deal with the shirtshow of school pickup and dropoff.

This "noise cancelling earbuds" thing is freakishly good.
It's not that I can't hear the background noise on the bus, but the dropoff the instant it switched on is remarkable.

Given the dropoff when our first choice fullbacks are out, I'd probably be lookin there first.
