[ #dnd OC ] Naj'all in his Drider form, cursed by Lolth herself and condemned to guard the Demonweb Pits 🕸

This was such a delight to roleplay! One of the best dnd games of my entire life 🥹
Sort of Character Sheet of my original dungeons and dragons (2024) character, Naj'all Armgo, from house Barrison Del'Armgo. At the end of our game "The Wounds Once Made", he was punished by Lolth with the most dreadful of curses for a drow, to be turned into a Drider. Naj'all is a tall drow elf man, with long disheveled white hair, red eyes with black scleras and an ugly scar on his face. His jaw splits into two separate parts. His torso is attached to the bodyof a black-purplish spider with 8 spiky legs. In the top left of the image a portrait of his face, scowling at the viewer with an impassive expression. In the top right there are two Sava pieces he himself cut from onix stones. The Mother has toppled the Warrior. In the corner, a broken brooch from his former house from Menzoberranzan, Barrison Del'Armgo.

Drow don't usually dream they but reexperience memories that run deep. Usually they're twisted and haunting when they do.

If Zyn dreams, it's of the day he nearly died. His Matron stabbing him with a dagger coated in Drider venom. Feeling the pain, the burning and the paralytic venom taking effect.

Remembering that Khel’s original concept was an order of the lycan blood hunter flavoured with a drider-like transformation for him instead of a werewolf. I pivoted to artillerist artificer, but I may need to revisit that one at some point 👀

Des has always found herself on the outskirts, never quite fitting in. As an infant, the wariness the village held for her mother continued towards Des, with some even suggesting the baby was a bad omen and should be castout, though this cruelty was quickly rejected by the druids. Despite her dark beginnings, Desdemona grew into a healthy young girl, though many treated her coldly and viewed her with caution, wondering if she'd succumb to the same madness as her mother. After a devastating drider attack that took the life of her mentor and the village's eldest druid, Aislin, the village turned on Des. Many became convinced that she was cursed; a scourge on the village that would lead to their extinction. Some went as far as to accuse her of orchestrating the attack. The remaining druids tried to to be the voice of reason, but the villagers were angry, hurting, and desperately needed to assign meaning to their deep losses. They exiled Desdemona from the village and into the depths of the caves, hoping that ridding their home of the strange, tragic girl would help them escape from the string of strange, tragic years they'd found themselves trapped in. In Waterdeep, Des lived a quiet, introverted life. The sun hurt her eyes, and she drew unwanted stares and whispers when she left Adhita's tower. She preferred to stay inside, enjoying the company of Adhita and the other two students who resided in the tower, Wren and and Sadeis. They say Desdemona was cursed at birth. If you ask around her small, isolated village, they'll tell you that the night she was born was the night the acrid waters of Blood Lake began to seep into their stream and soil. That fateful night, her existence had the village nervous. Her mother was widely known as a secretive, lonesome creature, a trait that was particularly frowned upon by their closely knit community. As the women gathered by the fire at night, chatting and working their threads, her mother instead could be found knelt in the dirt or knee deep in the water of the lake, muttering to herself. The local folk assumed she'd gone mad long ago, perhaps when her own parents had been slaughtered during a particularly bad drider attack. Things only worsened when she fell pregnant with Desdemona; the strain of the pregnancy seemed to split the seams of her already weak mind. Though their handful of druids did their best to care for her, her behavior became increasingly erratic. She would be gone for days at a time, only to return once the village was sure she never would. Her skin grew sallow, her hair brittle, graying, and falling out in clumps. For the first time, she began to take interest in the village's favorite pastime of storytelling, but the cloth she worked on did not depict fantastical stories, but instead scenes of death and horrors, or simply gibberish. By the night of Desdemona's birth, many in the village had grown to fear her mother and demanded the druids take action to protect the clan from her. They wouldn't get the chance. After many hours of arduous labor, Desdemona was born. The druids were sure she'd die in the aftermath, but her mother disappeared deep into the caves that very night, never to be seen again. A femme drow, Des, with curly black hair and freckles.
