Alex Dickerson-Watson, a self-taught Virginia Beach filmmaker, is creating a documentary which follows five local African American men and their rap ambitions.

The film recently won The Whickers Pitch at England’s Sheffield DocFest, earning about $134,000 and is slated for release in 2027.

Filmmaker Mye Hoang (Cat Daddies) and Katy McHugh, who runs a cat café in Milwaukee, at the Uptown with 25 Cats from Qatar about her efforts to find homes for street cats throughout the Middle East. Unexpected: one of the most pro-Muslim films I've ever seen. Recommended if it comes your way.
