Yup, that's the version me and Joe worked on for the DK1 (don't remember if Joe ported it to DK2 - I was at Oculus by then). I think Valve also did a "proper" VR port for HL2 a lot more recently for the modern headsets.

I definitely played some weird prototype of HL2 and TF2 on the oculus DK2 way back when. It was incredible, especially TF2 which I had a much stronger affinity for. It wasn't using any hand controllers, just KB/M. Your mouse moved the reticle around the screen, which was genius. Loved this story!

A big part of went wrong, for me, was Meta's software.
Software jank is many times worse in VR and the software + headset discomfort rewired my brain into not enjoying the medium.
Before that I had spent dozens of hours in the DK2 and HoloLens and mostly enjoyed the experience.

Stickerbush Symphony is the greatest DK country 2 track. So DK2 is my favorite DK country. I would say a Link to the past, Super Mario and Final Fantasy Mystic Quest would be my hardest 3. I also enjoyed Sunset Riders, and Baseball Sim 1000.
