For some nerdy behind-the-scenes details, the Digivice is loosely based on the Philosopher's Stone. The device itself is a rounded triangle, and the buttons/dpad are based on the three alchemic symbols for Earth, Sun and Moon. A ruby is at the core of the device, surrounded by the crystal of wisdom
