Rather satisfying nominative determinism here.

AI targets based on equivalent demographics etc is literally doing the opposite. It's using school as a social reproduction determinism. Also how will schools be resourced to improve? Unless the detail reveals something better it looks like a dreadful policy in the making.

Nominative determinism is a thing.

The assumption of an absolute determinism is the essential foundation of every scientific enquiry.

I wonder, as a matter of nominative determinism, whether Dipsy had a bit of a sherry problem?

Nominative determinism
The phenomenon where one's name coincides with their job is often referred to as nominative determinism.
The British slang for fart is ‘trump’, which is commonly used among British people in casual or humorous contexts.

Also like to be grumpy this morning about Kenneth P Bannerman, who whilst doing good work plonking memorials to disused airfields up & down the country, is clearly not afflicted by modesty. In contrast to every other of 1000s of memorials I've looked at, he's decided to be namechecked on all of his.

People have looked into ways to try to achieve determinism in Godot. If this is your engine of choice, it's something to look into, especially if you want to add online multiplayer. Inconsistencies such as these could very easily cause desyncs.

Never even thought of that. I was so lost in the dissociative feel of everything. And I always think of the cabbage

Oh and the ending.

Oh and how people don't understand the linguistic determinism and how it was applied in the book. Lol.

This book is a nightmare. I wish I never read it

"Aggressive self-determinism"? Bruh that isn't a thing "this country" does.

And I don't want to hear a Brit's opinion about protected wilderness - I come from a country where people take holidays to forge mushrooms, and for FUN now instead of basic sustenance.

It's not ethical of course but someone could make 100 or 1000 clones sharing the same DNA so figure out a clearer map of genetic determinism and what's left for the person.
Like if you share the same genome to you always end up with the same sexual orientation, or you get differences?

A lot of things we do in the US is insane but there are also some things we can generally be proud of and do what we can to preserve. This list is a pretty good start. I especially stan libraries, the postal service and self-determinism.
the ADA is honestly a marvel.

i noticed in austria that most bldgs are completely inaccessible. including most doctor's offices, which are often on the 2nd+ floor of a building which MIGHT have a tiny elevator where a wheelchair won't fit and even that's up a flight of stairs
There are arguably 4 out of 18 things on this list that the government isn't trying to actively destroy, and one of the four is "We created Shrek."

Well we also need to fix the problem of a lot of bigoted working people, who voted for Trump not because of economic reasons, but because they are sold on bigotry and hatred. Gotta be careful to avoid economic determinism, while focusing on needs and dreams of working people.

Safe largely because the "policing" of these spaces has always operated along social convention lines, with a side helping of flexibility (like when the ladies' loos have a long queue outside).

If you try to impose an artificial biological determinism, chaos is always going to be the result.
