Jaque-Fernandez, Allard et al. @cnrs.fr show that depolarization of #zebrafish #SkeletalMuscle fibers evokes a Mn²⁺ quenching signal that does not result from store-operated Ca²⁺ entry but from a displacement of Mn²⁺ accumulated on intracellular Ca²⁺ buffers rupress.org/jgp/article/...

Racial Depolarization cancelled?

🤔
….except for the education gap.

Collin and Denton counties are still subject to the laws of demographics & marginal depolarization.

It's inevitable Texas will flip. Only question is timing; the way things are headed it's getting closer by day.

My theory is a direct correlation between WTI and R vote share.

Prove me wrong.

Would probs have to entail a sharp depolarization of suburban southern whites which probs means the GOP gets locked out of power for a decade

Complete depolarization. Rutland to the right of upper mission (arguably) is a first.

Dilworth and Glenmore likely decided this. I can’t believe how red south central is too.

Heart function also improved in treated DMD rats. In the wild type animals treated with the high GT dose however an increased QT interval was seen. This has to do with the polarization and depolarization of the heart and is a risk factor for arrhythmia

This research paper presents a novel energy calculation algorithm that leverages quantum phase difference estimation (QPDE) and tensor-network-based unitary compression. The algorithm efficiently implements QPDE, reducing depolarization noise exponentially.

1/ Midterm gut check a year out. Assuming a D+4 generic ballot, I think Democrats are narrowly favored to take the House, even if the VRA is shredded. I think white college voters will continue to race towards Dems and racial depolarization is halted or reversed and this is pretty bad for the GOP.

Make them do the wave! When their arms are up, their sodium channel is open, and the excitement (depolarization) spreads across the classroom, but doesn’t go backwards because they’re tired from just having stood up and need a chance to reset.

They’ll roll their eyes, but they’ll remember!

Are we going to see more racial depolarization in favor of Reps? Is the Gen Z vote going to be ever more polarized along gender lines? The lack of Trump on the ballot is probably going to help this, but it’s not doing anything about the underlying trends. I just can’t see the backlash sticking.

I like Klein and I find he is thoughtful and earnest enough to not deserve the kinds of heat he gets from the left, but he is obsessed by a retvrn to 1960s era party depolarization, and the consensus on liberalism, anti-communism, and racism it was built on is gone and should stay dead.

Voltage-gated calcium channels allow Ca++ influx following membrane depolarization. The channel complex consists of several subunits:
The red forms the central pore through which Ca++ ions pass.
The extracellular and intracellular proteins regulate channel activation and inactivation.

For this reason, *depolarization*, i.e. the reunification of left and right political groups that have long been at odds, could be an apocalyptically bad outcome for some people. Probably it wouldn't be, but we really shouldn't be invested in the polarization-is-bad narrative.

Some depolarization of voting method, maybe?

This is why we need ideological depolarization. Retvrn to conservative Dems and liberal Republicans being sizable factions in their parties.

I'm doing my part as a pro-free market, pro-military, pro-law and order guy who is registered as a Dem.

Lasting depolarization won't come from asking individuals to be better; it will come from re-engineering the system that rewards being worse. We must deal with the dynamical feedback between “elites” and masses.

The average effect of depolarization treatments is modest at best (“a 5.4-point shift on a 101-point scale”) and decays within 2 weeks. Even more discouragingly, "stacking" multiple interventions or repeating them as "booster shots" doesn't produce significantly larger or more durable results.

Many depolarization programs highlight the importance of acknowledging common ground, often assuming that democratic values are something we can all agree on. This paper underscores why that's a bad assumption—and how support for multiracial pluralistic democracy is itself related to group identity.
This is a form of social prejudice that @svmiller.com and I find is empirically associated with weak support for democracy. (Will link paper below.) We’ve stalled on the book project but we document that anti-neighbor prejudice of this nature is corrosive to democratic values.
