A young, red-headed protester following a Defending Democracy protest held in Delaware, Ohio, 19 April 2025, at the Whit's Frozen Custard in that town. She is a child (somewhere between 7 and 10, I'd guess; I'm terrible at guessing ages). She wears a very bright and wild red wig and a sparkly silver and blue dress and a genuine but very much intentional and crowd-pleasing smile; and she holds a sign that reads, "Bright Women, sick of swimming | READY to STAND." She was at the Whit's with her mom, who, when asked if it was okay for the photo she'd posed for to be posted on BlueSky, asked *her* if it was okay. both agreed it was okay. There is a glass-doored, display freezer full of cardboard containers of delicious frozen custard behind her. There is a fire extinguisher on the wall behind her. It is not as red as her wig.
