Number two of my journey to get customized cards for each of my commanders, this time it’s Arcades by @whitecrowarchon.bsky.social !
I loved their sumi-e style and since Arcades doesn’t really have many other alternate art I thought it’d be more fun to do a commission of him.

I imagine they thought:
1. It comes in a big box
2. All of the Legends in the set say "Starter" on them and Riot (wrongly) assumed that they wouldn't be as competitively viable
Totally flawed thinking on their part, I would love deckboxes. Especially since the decks barely fit.

I wish ultimate guard hadn't gotten so many licenses. I saw some IP they had made sleeves and deckboxes of that would be pretty cool to own.
But the company supports a transphobic psychopath and uses AI, so I'm never buying their product. Here's hoping someone else gets those licenses.

I tried to recreate in Arena either of the two decks I still have constructed from my own physical cards in their very dusty deckboxes.
The cards are just too old. They're not there at all. Most were never reprinted in the current sets, even for Pioneer or Historical modes. XD

It’s not even just generative AI fill. I have a suspicion that their newest Floral & Coral lines of deckboxes were created entirely with AI. I haven’t been able to find any artist credits anywhere and the art itself is very sloppy.
