Since yesterday, I'm running #DaVinciResolve in distrobox because it does not work yet on @fedora@fosstodon.org 43.

It works find, but when I switch #Gnome virtual desktops and back, the window is not there anymore - It just disappears, but the process in the distrobox is stll running.

Finally I can run #DaVinciResolve again - Now in a @fedora@fosstodon.org 42 distrobox. That may be the better solution anyway.

I have one tip of my own that I tell everyone that's just starting out-ish. And here's the comment on reddit I made about it a long time back, with alt-text because I'm not a barbarian. The reason I'm posting a pic is because it's far too big for a post here. But yeah, this is the biggest timesaver.
A Reddit comment in the DaVinciResolve subreddit from BigAngry, one year ago, with 67 karma, it reads: "the greatest two keybinds i've ever been shown were to rebind 1 and 4 on your num row to be as follows. Go to DaVinci Resolve on the top menu bar next to file and edit, go to Keyboard Customization, select under the commands section and look for the following, and add the 1 and 4 keys to the appropriate keybinds, then save as a new config file. 1: Application -> Timeline -> Split Clip 4: Application -> Timeline -> Ripple Delete This makes it so you can literally two-finger cuts and ripple deletes as the timeline goes on without having to use the razor tool, or bother with changing tools in any way, shape, or form. Need a split in the timeline? 1. Have a piece of footage you want cut out and the part after it adhered to the part before it? select that part you want cut out and hit 4. And move on with your life."

So, I made a thing with my nephew. Because I find spending money on dumb expensive toys and probably breaking some kind of trespassing law is a great way to acquire affection!

Somewhere after #DaVinciResolve v20.1 the soft buttons user assignments on the Advanced Panels became persistent.

Before you had to assign them every time after launching the app. Now they are remembered even between system restarts.
