“It’s been one helluva climb, but we’ve arrived at some of the highest peaks in Laramidia. Perching myself onto a large cliffface, Tater-Tot and I can see the rest of Hell Creek from up here. Even with my levitation and wall-scaling skills, traversing here can be a bit risky. Due to the unstable terrain, all it would take for something to come plummeting down is one wrong step. It’s a good thing that the dinosaurs and other animals here are tough as rocks, being hardy and agile enough to survive these treacherous peaks. You just need to watch your step.”

It's my fascination for wings speaking but I adore that first one with the diving dragon. A midflight snapshot of an acrobatic moment barreling off a cliffface to hunt, perhaps?

It's the back and the harbour cliffface that look modified. If not built, possibly carved cleaved and cut. Not unlike quarry walls.

Not done, but I’m super pleased with the work I’ve done on my map of Ezra so far.

I found a way to get my sketch into Procreate and remove the background so I could ink it.

Some texturing and labeling left to do, but getting there.

10km progressive run today. Did the penultimate 3km a lot faster than the target and had to come in slower for the final 2km.

Thats why discipline is important! Do what is asked, no more, no less! And I’m terrible at it 😂

Still chugging along on the first few chapters of Perhi’s HW fic. I might post the first chapter once this one is finished, though that might depend on if I manage to come up with a title for the story before finishing this one
“We’ll do our best to find your knights, Ser Redwald,” Perhi said determinedly before making her way to where Artoriel waited for her. She let him lead her back out of the settlement and into the cold. Thankfully Artoriel was kind enough to shorten his strides so she didn’t have to work to keep pace with him. Still with night falling, they knew there was no time to wait. They followed the icy road past the Pike and towards a towering stone and iron bridge Perhi had noticed earlier in the day but had not ventured near. Artoriel led her first west of the bridge pointing out their destination: Camp Riversmeet located down at the bottom of the cliff they stood on. Artoriel shook his head examining the cliffface. “I see no way to descend the cliffs safely from here. Should we fall, the beasts below would make short work of us.” Perhi nodded. She narrowed her eyes examining what little she could see of the camp from this angle. “There looks to be a small pack of wolves near the camp. I don’t see any signs of other activity, but the snow isn’t helping.” She looked up to Artoriel’s surprised expression. “Keepers of the Moon have keen night vision.” “That is very useful,” He acknowledged approvingly. “Come─I know a path to the riverbed below, east of the Black Iron Bridge.” He led her around to the other side of the bridge. The path to the bottom of the cliff was much clearer here though they did have to tread more carefully to avoid the beasts and voidsent wandering nearby. They were luckily able to avoid most of the dangers by the time they reached the outskirts of the camp. Unfortunately there had been no sign of any of the reconnaissance party either.

Tiny beaches with sparse connection to strategic goals, strung out between sheer cliffface and coral, that are well protected by elevated positions. Like just a nightmare. Best case you end up punching through to urban/mountain warfare. Just nightmarish

Getting in a helicopter should be viewed with the same risk profile as free climbing a cliffface. Multiple points of failure that have no redundancy. If something goes wrong, you’re just toast.

Phong Nha-ke Bang national park in the Bo Trach district (Quang Binh province) of Vietnam. There are hundreds of caves that were only recently (~2010) discovered, carved through millennial of dripping water. How will human behaviour affect them?

The entrance to a cave, fed by a slow moving river. The sheer cliffface extends out of frame and the cave is pitch black. You cannot see what lies beyond its mouth. Trees overhang the entrance, so you'd probably miss this from above. Steve taking a picture of the rock formations. He's on a platform that's well illuminated. The cave walls are extremely intricate and have delicate patterns from water running over and through them for thousands of years. Beautiful cave patterns. The rock looks like melting wax. Steve and Yvonne crouched down by the water's edge int he cave. You can get a sense of the scale of this particular cave. It's a little jarring because the photo is fully illuminated (man made lights). So already we're changing this cave.
