Great piece by @oriion.bsky.social and a great representation of what research suggests is more the norm than the exception. Detransitioners generally do not identify as cisgender even after detransition and often do not regret their transition.

I tend to agree. And I'll point out it's often cisgender and heterosexual teachers doing the overkill.
This is filtered by my teaching high school, but “If I’m so safe to be me, why do they have to say it on every wall” is how plenty of queer kids do react. And these are kids who are not shy and do want rainbow merch.
