And “regular” as in, for example, ‘Alfama’ – the Celtiberian/Roman spa town mentioned by Martial, today Alhama de Aragón.

In addition to my own books on Ogam (shop.universitybooks.ie/Books/OGAM_9...) and Cisalpine Celtic (shop.universitybooks.ie/Books/CISALP...), the AELAW booklets on Gaulish and Celtiberian are now also available from universitybooks.ie (although they are not listed on the website yet).

Also... I'm curious how well-attested is Celtiberian compared to Gaulish?
At some point I'm gonna get to overhauling Wikipedia's coverage of the Iron Age Celts.

And I really can't wait for that!

It's probably gonna be years until I start this one, but I'm definitely already excited for it!

We also see some 'medium' infantry (unarmored melee 'contact' infantry) in ancient armies splitting the difference, often from poorer societies in places like Spain and Gaul.

I thought this was fully Celtiberian because of the style but it’s an early Roman provincial…

Two reconstructive hypotheses of how the "Lady of Elche" bust could have looked like, if it was part of a complete statue.
I show the statue standing, in the style of the "Lady of Cerro de los Santos", and sitting, like the "Lady of Baza"

Spain, 1924, new dictatorship. A dancer with ruined legs. A manipulative goddess. Secret police closing in. Lovers plotting betrayal. Ancient Celtiberian gods returning to claim Spain with blood. Stopping them means giving up every dream she’s ever had. #A #F #Hist #Q #FIFRevpit #Mockpit

Horses were extremely important in celtiberian society, being maybe one of the most represented animals in both celtiberian pottery and metalsmithing.

Interesting how HP Lovecraft can make air conditioning seem terrifying (in the story Cool Air, though it was admittedly new then). It's nonetheless a good story. A pity about the racial stereotyping...

La Tene 1 swords - and even more often, local variants of them - show up in Celtiberian military kit, the spear-types are really similar (though hard to say that's influence because omni-spear) and I've seen 'Celtic' artistic motifs in objects associated with the Lusitani.

The seasons change for everyone, even for this peaceful Celtiberian village. 🏔️🌿

However, there is an uneasy feeling in the air, like something is looming on the horizon.

What fate awaits the people of Numantia in this upcoming #Spring? ⚔
