-slams desk- Instead of a pointless death in Legion, Vol'jin should have been offered a deal by Bwomsamdi, giving him and any SH volunteers even more oomph with very little in the way of catch - can't be Loa of Death if the Legion nukes your world!

Like most of BFA, it suffers from a pivot in the middle of the story.
Bwomsamdi was GOING TO be a bad guy (re-watch Rastakhan’s death cinematic. He *orders* Talanji to go after the Alliance) but after switching him to be nicer and moving away from the faction conflict plot, things get muddied.

Tbh that could have been fixed by making their approach different. F.e. zandalari are worshippers, they believe that their loa would never abandon them, but darkspear make deals, knowing full well that the loa might just screw them over (especially bwomsamdi, who is the closest to them)

This is Chimali, he was a bodyguard for the historians that arrived to document the fall of Zul'drak but his ship was intercepted and slain by the Lich King's forces. Chimali was raised to fight alongside the scourge but they didn't factor in that he was a follower of Bwomsamdi.

I ended up trimming back the Loa section a bit, mostly because a lot of the loa genuinely don't make a huge number of appearances or just don't materially affect the story outside of Rezan, Mueh'zala, Bwomsamdi, or the like.

A pact of desperation is made with Bwomsamdi and the zone reaches its climax putting Rezan to rest and preparing the city for the inevitable assault to come.

The only reason we know more about Talanji’s feelings is because of Shadows rising, a book that came out after the expansion ended, which also re-framed Bwomsamdi at the same time to kinda sorta lead into Shadowlands.
