tbh I haven't actually done the math.

- Both are T6, 3W, S7 and Dmg 2.
- Custodes hit on 2+ (vs. Bullgryns' 3+), have A5 with Sustained Hits (vs. just A4), and a 3+ save after AP (vs. Bulls' 4++).
- But the Bulls' -1 Dmg might tip the balance in their favor? Not sure.

Ogryns and Bullgryns are ridiculously strong and tough lol.

On the tabletop, Bullgryns with mauls and brute shields would likely beat an equal number of Custodian Guards with spears, thanks to their -1 Dmg rule. In the lore, this would be absurd.

I fielded my Guard against Space Wolves for the first time tonight. We called it a draw after 4 turns, and was very close throughout. I tried Bullgryns for the first time, and also the Techpreist/Dorn combo. I see why people like both, but more playtesting is needed.

I'm rebuilding, had a few versions of my Guard army, largest in the mid to late 00s where I had around 40-50 tanks inc 3 super heavies.

My current army started when 10th launched, still working on it. I'll explain a few more details in alt text, the second two pics are older armies I've sold.
A pic of the ASstra Militarum/Imperial Guard using mostly the Cadian models. My current core of the Guard army, I'm using a 'Dark Ages' colour palette as the entire army is based around Boudicca and the Iceni. Still have a few things on sprue, to construct inc another two Dorns. Also Halfway through a converted Bullgryn squad using AoS Ogors. A pic of my secondary Astra MIlitarum/Imperial Guard forces. These are my allied regiments of the main army, largest being the rapidly growing 'not-Catachan' ladies from Across the Realms, Hoping GW redo plastic Catachans at some point and I'll mix the two sets of models together to make a full secondary regiment, they also have their own lady Ogryns. Also some Across the Realms counts as Jump pack troops (I also have the Kill Team ones somewhere) Rough Riders which are being done as Attilian, Some Krieg, plan on getting some more of them down the road and Navy Breachers. A pic of my previous army, I sadly have very few pics of the the huge army, If I can find one I'll share it, but this was the army I did with some survivors of the large one and some Kickstarter lady guard from Raging Heroes from around 2015ish, had to sell these when we moved across Suffolk due to space, had another shelf of more combat tanks as well. You can make out the Bullgryns I mentioned in my other pic in the far end of the shelf, not the same ones of course, these are long sold, but I'm literally just remaking them and they look nigh identical. (if you scroll back along my feed I think I shared the ones I am remaking here, but will share them all when I finally finish the second set of three to make six) This is one of the only shots of the huge army, it was made up of three regiments, these where the Hellesvour based of Catachans, the ones I did first around 00-04, I also had cadians as Valconians in purple/white but these where never finished bythe time I sold them and the large chunk of the tanks came from the Phyrexian Tank division inc two Super Heavies, one of which was a Stormblade, still my fave ever tank.

Three 3d print models of big-big chonkers in heavy armour with bludgeons and sheilds. Not-Bullgryns, basically. There have been modifactions, removing or changing the iconography, and scratches to suggest battle damage.

A heavily armoured elite variant of the Ogryns, the Bullgryns charge into battle in shield lines, providing their brute force to break the enemy front ranks. They are also trained and equipped to hold key positions and perform defensive operations.

.....and then the Sisters of Battle Showed up (my player partner in this scenario), "Assumed Direct Command" and tried to tell us to abandon our fighting positions while they "Covered our retreat."
