Priscilla Wyrmcrest, a half-dragon bugbear! In DnD she’s a Rune Knight Fighter, but I also have a version of her for Pathfinder 2e that’s a Strength-based Monk who uses the Wrestler archetype for grapples and throws!

"go back to phonics" was a conservative education bugbear for decades and although it wasn't for the right reasons (just bog-standard "I did this and it was fine" with a side of "this is more rigorous so it must be better") it turns out they were right

Yeah, it's so mechanical. My bugbear is the way they back into plot points. We need her to be isolated, so we'll have no one else take this crisis seriously. Done. She's alone. You could have made that convincing though.

Deleted previous post because I misread but this is frequently a bugbear for me in a lot of modern spec fic stuff. There can be this odd inability to show people being persuaded or having a normal diversity of opinions within a group. It's all very absolutist and odd.

Aaarrgh! this was my bugbear in Oppenheimer. Had little to no idea what was going on for at least three quarters of the film. Couldn't work out who was who. Had to look him up on Wikipedia when I got out of the cinema

They really should just ignore it. Don't pay any attention to another movie unless they absolutely HAVE TO bring something up as a plot point. Canon is a bugbear for a character like Bond, continuity only truly matters within a specific plot.

My personal bugbear about James Bond is that (and no shade to Javier Bardem) Skyfall would've been a lot better and had more pathos if they'd gotten Pierce Brosnan to play the villain.

This is where I'm at after sleeping on it. I think adding more cards waters Ascension down a little, and I'm intrigued to try SGL. I think Mutagenic is strong for non-Ascension plans, and I like that it puts some points towards DRC given that SGL can make delirium tough.

Thinking about Munir & these Bugbear brothers this morning
I should revist them at some point.

The wave of fashy/tacticrap larpers deffo is my biggest bugbear about the cosplay/collector scene
I distinctly remember some prick proudly showing off his Iron Sky Nazi display stand (with a *black sun* logo) on a big name cosplay/collector forum and he got nothing but praise from the other guys

Small bugbear. Football pundits unnecessarily prefixing the words ‘matches’ or ‘games’ with ‘football’.
E.g. “The fans will start to get on his back if he doesn’t start winning football matches.”

A personal bugbear of mine because I think it's *just great* that young men are now being told it's bad to not be traditionally masc by both self-described feminists and MRAs

Like this remains my bugbear with the entire Jurassic World game franchise: it fundamentally misunderstands the text it wants to adapt in order to sell a cartoon version that pretends like it's saying the same thing but isn't

As you note, propagandists fed the anti-public-health bugbear by teaching hitherto apolitical folks how to (mis)interpret Covid lockdowns. These folks' radicalization didn't just happen, it wasn't a fait accompli, and it was neither unstoppable once it started nor unendable now; >

A huge bugbear in Leicester. The bus station is nowhere near the train station. It’s a good 15-20 mins walk. That’s not integrated transport.
