"Virtuosa" Day 11 - 24,847 words: Quite close to the half-way point of the month, and another day in a row of two chapters and the most words I've written all month. Still, other distractions today kept me from getting more written, but now I have a much more comfortable buffer.

Feel like I’ve been increasingly taking control of my routine and managing my time better—good! But I’m also finding I get a little more irritated by things outside my control that don’t go as expected. Dunno. Maybe I’m just doing too much and not building enough of a buffer

Strong El Niño events boost West Antarctic snowfall, slowing sea-level rise….but not for long

By 2100, warming kills this effect as the polar jet strengthens, cutting off moisture transport

A natural buffer against SLR is vanishing

A short heated citrate buffer incubation can be used for antigen retrieval but keep it less than 15 minutes. Sodium borohydride (0.1%) incubation can also help with antigen retrieval. Happy to chat more!

Found my first use case for #Godot 4.5's stencil buffer: applying a filter while the camera is underwater!
Basically just have a box that writes to the stencil, a box that clears the stencil for everything not underwater, and a full-screen rect that only draws where the stencil is set.

It is difficult to see Putin opening a second front via Belarus. Less so Moscow's concern for Belarusians but more Putin's concern about Polish military capability. A second front directly from Russia is more likely, with Belarus left as a "neutral" buffer.

That said, he's done it before..........

I clicked on the Halloween Karate Combat stream and I saw Robin Black dressed like Bruce Buffer. He looked so much like him that I really thought Karate Combat was on it's last legs if they had Buffer doing commentary. Then I realized it was Black and felt the exact same way.

Helix Git nicety 1: enabling lazygit in the way I was used to with nvim, space-g-g.

Put the following in your config.yml:
[keys.normal.space.g]
f = "changed_file_picker"
g = [
":write-all",
":new",
":insert-output lazygit",
":buffer-close!",
":redraw",
":reload-all"
]

I’ve seen this issue in other apps ever since Apple put folders into the folders app. For some reason the photo picker won’t recognize a folder that doesn’t have an album at its highest level (ie a folder that only contains sub-folders isn’t displayed), but never seen it in Buffer that I can recall
November 12, 2025 at 3:55 AM
I *think* that might have been trying to attach an image straight off an external drive through files.

As for the album visibility, I’ve seen other apps that won’t show a folder or sub-folder unless a separate album is in the same area, but that’s never been an issue in Buffer before now.

These are some of the more basic effects you can make, I think, but these are outline & glow effects made with the Jump Flood SDF buffer - link to the repo below! 👇

MS Office LTSC for Mac 2021 hit by CRITICAL heap overflow (CVE-2025-60724). Remote code execution possible—no user action needed. I really need to stop one person in a community space from stopping me going to said community space, except also I am conflict averse, none of my friends can go tonight, and I don't know anyone else there and can't guarantee a buffer :'>

No problem, lol, yeah idk why but this place is sometimes so buggy it loves to freeze or buffer/lag for me a lot and I've even had it where I couldn't see images at all unless I clicked on them hopefully they'll eventually get around to fixing it somehow.

He will pardon her on his way out, or if the GOP maintains a majority in either house of Congress, immediately after the midterms. He likes to create chaos, so it would make sense to do it when he looks the least vulnerable and there is a buffer for the next election/sandbagging Vance.

TruTru Haptic recreates textures through haptic feedback—smooth stone, falling rain—targeting anxiety and ADHD. Thoughtful design, but I wonder: can ergonomics go too far? When we buffer every discomfort with technology, what do we lose? https://jb9.me/gzyQ33
