Looking through an arched window an hour after sunrise the sky is filled with chunky gray clouds, and patches of pale yellow light are breaking throug. Pointed roofs of Harlem brownstones with red brickwork are across the street, and a taller apartment building can be seen in the distance. The tops of two trees are on the bottom and right, turning red and gold for autumn.

For those wondering about the terrain piece I started for the Nerdlings comp last month, still moving along, a lot of it now has brickwork to the roof point and the porch has its done too, a lot higher on the tower, but still more to go.

A pic of the ruined church as its continued construction moves onward. Can see I've started the tricky stage of brickwork around the lip of the inner tower (above what would be the inside that has collapsed below... I'm thinking its going to have beams places below as if folks loyal to the church have done their best to support what's left of the tower, but will see how it goes, once the roof is in place that will also explain why that part just didn't collapse. A shot of the other side of the church showing the continued brickwork climbing slowly up the rear of the tower.

I used to live in a really shitty part of town in a complex that was former military confab housing. I checked and ten years later it had a new owner, landlord beige paint over the brickwork, and that same unit was now "luxury" and went for 3x more

my grandfather showed me some TERRIBLY built brickwork that is probably about what a libertarian is: you cant put loads on walls like them or expect them to withstand impact but i guess if you just want a pile of badly mortared together bricks that leak and crack thats what you got

A Western Conifer Seedbug (Leptoglossus occidentalis) has wandered into the garage this morning, looking for somewhere to overwinter....
A slim, attractive brown insect with long legs and antennae is shown in the photo. It has alternating light and dark bands that run along the outer wing edges on the flaring sides of the abdomen in an elegant pattern, making it a distinctive true bug. It is pictured on the pale orangey-red brickwork of the garage wall, as it has come in from the garden looking for a place to overwinter.

Cat sanctuary visit today, with multiple bags of treats and toys. ❤️ I don't know when I'll have time to start sorting through pictures, but here's proof that I am definitely my mother's daughter, lol. We're in the enclosure with the semi ferals in this one. 🙂
