Last time I was in London we spent some time in a brewpub. Next to us was a group of doctors, talking about the government. One of them loudly added „the fucking cunt“ to every mention of Wes Streeting.

Three hours at the brewpub this afternoon. Saw some friends, had great conversations, chose yarn for a baby blanket (one of the staff is expecting), sold a copy of our book, talked books & made recommendations, drank some beer (obvs) and brought home a cheesesteak for dinner. WIN.

He's almost never this chill in public spaces. Didn't bark once, not even at the other dogs, hardly even pulled in the leash walking down. A little of his fire left with Lucy, but I'm hoping with some time it'll come back.

Things not looking great for the beer/brewpub industry! Younger cohorts aren't into it and my cohort is drinking way less, I guess.

I guarantee you that 99 percent of the people who ask why parents bring kids to a brewpub don’t have children.

I frequently do this at the brewpub by my gfs place, something about the way you line up to place your order always results in me picking the first thing I see rather than something I like.

(Which is another point in favor of “people actually like them” because socializing at a brewpub is one thing but your local shop isn’t keeping something in stock no one’s buying)

Spanish-English language exchange for LGBTQ+ Chicagoans builds stronger cross-cultural ties
I'm standing in an East Lake View brewpub. About two dozen men, mostly gay like me, stand around. We're tossing back IPAs and autumnal ciders. We're munching pizza. We're gabbing. Someone turns to me and introduces himself. And then I freeze. I go blank. I know what to say, just not how to say it. Thankfully, I have a cheat sheet of conversation starters: We're all wearing little name tag stickers on our chests.
