Due to room availability issues there will alas not be any lectures about Shakespeare for this year's #bloomsdayhalifax though you should still drop by to recharge your phone and enjoy this lovely building #bloomsday

I wasn't quite sure where to set the Oxen of the Sun episode for #bloomsdayhalifax - but the original is notably on Holles street, and the Brown Hound is on Hollis street, and they have a seafood menu for the summer, which fits with the fish stew they're eating in the chapter, so... #bloomsday

He mounted to the parapet again and gazed out over Dublin bay …

—God! he said quietly. Isn't the sea what Algy calls it: a great sweet mother? … Epi oinopa ponton. Ah, Dedalus, the Greeks! I must teach you. You must read them in the original. Thalatta! Thalatta! #bloomsday #bloomsdayhalifax

Last spot for today's #bloomsdayhalifax tour. I had moved lovely Zoe from the North End to Historic Properties, which would have been 1904 Halifax's version of Nighttown. But alas it is under construction

I have a lot to say about last weekend's #bloomsdayhalifax and I've figured it'll likely be best done as 18 shorter blog posts, one for "episode". Here's the first:

An important part of #bloomsdayhalifax is making sure people are getting their potatoes #bloomsday

Finally finishing my blog series about #bloomsdayhalifax including how I used the #gpt4o API to make a custom narrative of every participant's day in (sort of) Molly Bloom's half-asleep voice

At Holy Cross cemetery for "Hades" #bloomsdayhalifax #bloomsday.

Here lies Canada's first Maritimer and first Catholic Prime Minister, though he died suddenly in 1895, 2 years into his term, while visiting Queen Victoria in Windsor Castle

Episode 8: Lunchtime with Lestrygonians!

Bloom has a cheese sandwich and some wine for lunch - so Durty Nelly's has a thematically appropriate special all long weekend! #bloomsdayhalifax

I'm set up here for a while in case anyone needs tech support or just wants to nerd out

I did photo mashups for all 18 locations of #bloomsdayhalifax. This one may be my favourite, reflecting the bellicose vibe of the chapter and the photos from the Police Gazette

Jennifer's of Nova Scotia have been big supporters. Got my lemon soap and sketchy letter and it's now almost time for lunch!

The next Bloomsday Halifax episode: Nausicaa at Salter. This was a challenge, since I needed to recreate a rather seedy interaction in a less seedy manner and in a public place. I ended up going with blue dollar-store bows in awkward locations #bloomsdayhalifax

4 more sleeps til #bloomsday! Apps have been finalized and published, (most) venues (mostly) locked down, collectibles are being printed, and I'm finalizing the content. Media interview on its way and prepping talk on Saturday. It should be fun! #bloomsdayhalifax

Took a Bird scooter down to the south end to start #bloomsdayhalifax. South Park bikeway was great. Alas Point Pleasant is out of Bird's coverage area so I have to walk the final stretch. Nice morning for it though

I'm not new to this: last summer I meticulously recreated the June 11 1904 edition of the lad mag "Police Gazette" from microfiche scans and AI pictures, and left it at the downtown Stillwell for #bloomsdayhalifax

Doing the #bloomsdayhalifax newspaper episode "Aeolus" on the site where the old Chronicle Herakd building used to be. I really really wanted to get these screens to show headlines like in the book but could get a response from the people in charge oh well. #halifax

At the waterfront for #bloomsdayhalifax episode "Nausicaa" - if Gertie was here she'd be rolling about inappropriately in one of those hammocks

Standing in for Clifton Lodge school in episode 2 of Ulysses, the lovely Point Pleasant Lodge often looks AI-generated, with its slightly oversized gothic features and all the flowers around it. But trust me it's real! #bloomsday #bloomsdayhalifax

Last thing for #bloomsdayhalifax #bloomsday: I cut up my pocket potato and cooked it into an omelette for breakfast - with Gorgonzola of course. It fell apart a bit on the flip but it was still pretty tasty!
