One of my favorite things about black metal is that when the song's about to kick in, you never know if you're gonna get hit with hyperspeed blastbeats that sound like they were recorded in or with a tin can, or the most beautiful lament you've ever heard in your life.

I could have gone more obscure, it could have been Signal the Firing Squad.
Sascha got a look at herself in the bathroom mirror. She'd spent so long either in her full loadout in the field, or little more than underwear in her quarters, that seeing herself wearing formfitting jeans and Converse sneakers felt almost wrong — like she'd already lost part of herself before she'd even awoken on that rooftop. There would be time to mourn later, though, at the hotel. She sized up the t-shirt's design, but couldn't hope to make out what she assumed was a band logo. The mirror's reflection flipping the text didn't do her much good. The rest of the design seemed like something she'd have seen during her early adulthood in many of the clubs and bars that she must have frequented, according to Muller; a decidedly timely illustration of a hooded figure, clad in a respirator with no eyes to speak of. As she tried to suss out more of the shirt's details, she saw her handler step in the doorway behind her. The Director seemed pleased, looking up and down Sascha with a grin that felt like she was patting herself on the back for a job well done. Her eyes locked with Sascha's, then scrolled down and stopped at the maid's hips. Sascha saw, and Muller could tell — she just didn't care. It would have been pointless to call her on it, this was just a thing she did. Instead, Sascha focused back to her new wardrobe. "Muller," she began. "What the fuck is this?" "You don't like it?" Muller queried, looking away. "I thought that kind of music was your thing?" "But I don't know what kind of music it is! I didn't even know if it was a band shirt, I thought it was a skating zine or something." "The clerk chatted me up a fair bit about that one, actually. Said she hadn't heard anyone mention that band in quite a while." "What band?" "I believe the name was 'Eat a Helicopter'?" Sascha suddenly wheezed and burst out laughing, almost stumbling backwards into Muller. "'Eat a Helicopter', ha! Are we fuckin' serious, how is that a band name?" "The cashier said they haven't been active in a while. Pity." "Surprised they got anywhere with a name like that." "I do have to agree," Muller softly chuckling. "It's not terribly succinct, is it?" "I mean, it's a pretty dated name," Sascha followed up, looking closer at the logo again. "If they're from the scene they look like they are, anyway. What do they sound like?" Muller took out her phone to unlock it. Sascha noticed her music app on the home row, a very telling little detail. After some typing and awkward waiting, the room was filled with distorted palm-mutes, blastbeats and a mixture of harsh vocals coming from the phone's pitiful little speaker. "Yeah, that's what I expected," Sascha sighed. "That's a deathcore logo if I've ever seen one. Hey, what's this song called?" "I…hmm, 'Placentasaurus', that's a new one." Both women laughed together in a peculiar little moment of unity, though each of them exchanged glances when they realized, and wound themselves down after a minute. "No, you're right," continued Muller. "It's not really to my taste, either." "What even is your taste, ma'am?" "That, I can show you during our drive," Muller said, putting a finger to the maid's lips. "Well, if Raines doesn't take 'driver's privelege' again." "God, I hope not." "I would agree. I'm…just not in the mood for Seether today."
