I've got a new favourite book! 'Black Leopard Red Wolf' by Marlon James is one of the best novels I've read, and the most accomplished contemporary fantasy book I've encountered.

The first section of Black Leopard Red Wolf by Marlon James challenged the writing style of many of the books I have read recently or maybe ever. I am loving every minute of James’ world building!

I wasn't expecting to be chewing on this book the entire trip plus some, but I just finished Black Leopard, Red Wolf by Marlon James. I really enjoyed the writing depicting the state of man vs animal and the in-between for the character of the Leopard.

I just started reading this on a whim (and was told by my book nerd friend that it was "weird af") and I am absolutely in love after chpt 1. It's very interesting how fast it jumps around, but still paints a very clear/vibrant picture.
