#Birding2025 Recap 181 species, my 2nd best year since 2014, even without trips to Brittany, Provence, Jura, or Corsica!
Made the most of local patches and Niort (my home town)
A few puzzling misses: Fieldfare and Red Kite.
Highlights of the year:

Great Ouse and Relief channel. Living up to its name in stature but not in bird quality! No Goosander for me (or little else, except a stunning flyby Kingfisher) despite 15 being reported the day before! Oh well, that’s birding! Also, the nearby River Nar for comparison! #birding2025

A rather belated start to #birding2025 in the form of a couple of hours around (but not inside, except for the rather nice soup in the cafe) Welney WWT. Dank but enjoyable! 40 species inc 3 Swan, 3 Egret, Crane, 2 Owl and 2 Sparrow! #birdingnorfolk
