That movie was streaming trash dressed up with hype. I hate movies that really on "the Repeater" gimmick rerunning the same events over and over. It's lazy and boring. Also, Bigelow has a weird military fetish I find icky.

Stinkaroonie. A big low for Bigelow. A filmmaker I genuinely admire.

Watched two very good new movies today. The Spike Lee/Denzel joint “Highest 2 Lowest” has a great cast and a classic Spike Lee feel. The new Kathryn Bigelow movie, “House of Dynamite,” intense thriller with a great cast, too.

There’s this local brand called Mem Tea that does some herbal blends that I like, but otherwise I mostly just drink decaf Bigelow/Twinings 🙈 the good stuff is only for early in the day

(I’ll hasten to add I don’t like the ending…but I got what Bigelow was doing.)

Bigelow works hand-in-hand with the military. In "Zero Dark Thirty" she showed torture actually yielding usable information, contrary to studies, intelligence data, and military intelligence experience. She's the worst kind of sellout: an pro-active shill for the military industrial complex.

By not showing the aftermath of a nuclear strike, “A House of Dynamite” commits “a dereliction of moral duty,” Spencer Cohen writes.
Opinion | Why Didn’t ‘A House of Dynamite’ Show a Nuclear Explosion?
Hollywood refuses to show the brutal reality of nuclear war.

Reviewing the new Kathryn Bigelow film, A House of Dynamite (from the director of The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty). It’s a tense political thriller that unfolds over 24 hours and is told from multiple perspectives. www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0tT...

Pas complétement convaincu par A House of Dynamite, mais j'aime bien ce petit délire de Kathryn Bigelow "allez tiens t'as été sage, je te mets 5mn avec Greta Lee"

a Kathyrn Bigelow movie actually sucked? Huh. I'll be darned

We specifically researched two enslaved cases with them. The first is Patton v. Oveton from 1847 and Bigelow v. Overton (TN' 1832)

good Bigelow might not be coming back

Yes, the climax means Bigelow “could avoid confronting viewers with traumatic violence.” But she’s shown it before and taken major heat—Detroit, ZD30 anyone? Didn’t bother me and yes Threads, etc. exist. A choice not a cop out. What ‘A House of Dynamite’ Didn’t Show www.nytimes.com/2025/11/15/o...

Got bored and dumb enough to watch a Kathryn Bigelow film last night, that's on me

Dear FYC email. I'd like nothing more than to give Kathryn Bigelow awards. Can I retroactively give her them for STRANGE DAYS? NEAR DARK? Hell, BLUE STEEL?

💯😠

I thought the same thing, if less harshly, while watching "A House of Dynamite", constantly wondering how DJT and his "advisors" would react to a similar circumstance.

One caveat: Packer and Oppenheim/Bigelow probably wrote the stories before Nov 2024, but that's no excuse for going forward...
can’t really express the level of contempt i have for what is just a form of solipsism. “the things that annoy me are the only things that exist and also the worst things imaginable”

Kathryn Bigelow is one of the best filmmakers of our time. A House of Dynamite is riveting. An essay film.

Se ponen malos. Cada vez que en la CIA o el Pentágono escuchan el nombre de Kathryn Bigelow, sus mandamases se agitan en sus asientos. La multipremiada

With A House of Dynamite, Kathryn Bigelow made a movie about one tiny piece of a giant story. You could make several other movies from the stories she didn't tell. But those weren't the movies she was trying to make. They didn't fit artistically with her vision. Coincidentally, she was right

I am growing increasingly frustrated with this genre of criticism. Sure, A House of Dynamite did not show the aftermath of a nuclear attack. That wasn't the movie Kathryn Bigelow was trying to make, and showing it would have undermined the film's message www.nytimes.com/2025/11/15/o...
