But we are IN hives EVERY 7 days & most are NOT. You used to be able to beekeep like your grandparents - not any more. Our door could harm the hive if beekeepers aren’t religiously inspecting. We have 2+ methods to prevent swarming & usurpation.
I am putting a course together to train others.

Oof. I could not deal with one in my backyard. Do you beekeep or are they just your angry little friends?

The worlds biggest gathering of national bee keeping organizations no longer has a honey show because what was submitted in the past wasn't always real honey.

If you want real honey, get it from your local beekeeper.

I knew a Peer of Beekeep. Nice enough, minded her own beeswax. She inherited the post from her mother.

If you get a picture of them, I'm sure some people on here can tell you what they are.

I'm just a hobbyist beekeep, but I've had tons of friends go "I've got a swarm of bees in my back yard" only for me to find they have a wasp or hornet nest.

Give a man a bee. You’ll feed him once. Teach a man to beekeep….

Me: overwhelmed, anxious, and having a breakdown
Also me: I want to beekeep, have a mini farm, start a homestead, grow as many plants as I can, and open my own café/bakery/bookshop.

NO!
Seriously, don't buy any of this stuff. If you want some real, proper, local honey contact your local beekeeping association and they will tell you which local beekeepers are selling their real honey.

I'm as beekeep. I always tell people that if humans work together like the bees, it would be a beautiful world. But there's a catch. Everything is done by the lady bees, the queen & the workers. Drones (males) have 2 jobs. Help regulate hive temp & mate the queen. If he's alive he's only doing 1job
Too many male voters can’t stand the idea of a woman leading them—even if she’s smarter, more educated, and more qualified. They’d rather follow a loud, unhinged man than admit a woman might be better. That’s not strength. That’s fragile ego disguised as toughness.

🙋‍♀️ former beekeep! those are not honey bees, so no local beek would do an extraction...
I'm also seeing some sort of paper wasp. Unfortunately you probably need to get them out, either by removing the nest or by exterminating them. As the nest gets bigger they're more likely to get territorial...

You can start beekeeping!

This is ABSOLUTELY the cheapest way to beekeep, y’all. Anyone wanting to get started, it would cost you about $525 a hive this way, I recommend two when you start. And about $200 in other equipment. Total 🟰 $1,225.00

NOW is the time of year to start & get your bees! 🐝
