#bartlemas
Big news from my Division (Bartlemas), the Howard St bollards are now IN!! Cos this is East Oxford I genuinely just met 3 people separately talking abut how great they were. “Think of all those sweet kids on cargo bikes” said a woman talking to her elderly companion.

(Hyperlocal Oxford)

Interesting to see that the Green Party candidate won (comfortably) in the Bartlemas (Cowley Road etc) division - one that is central to the LTN debate.

Cllr Emily Kerr (Green, Bartlemas) sums up and tries to re-focus on the (amended) text rather than questions of conduct. The twice-amended motion to look at subsidising bus fares for young people passes with 40 for, 21 against.

Delighted to have this endorsement from Damian, who is my current County Councillor and who is standing down in May (he’s Iffley Fields and the boundary shifts to become Bartlemas but broadly same area).

Thanks @damohaywood.bsky.social it’s been a huge pleasure working with you!
I couldn't be more pleased than to pass my baton onto Emily. She will make an excellent County Councillor. So #Vote4Emily
Excited to announce I’ve been selected to stand for the Greens in Oxfordshire County Council elections next May, for Bartlemas division (new w/boundary changes, overlaps my City Ward).

The County is responsible for Transport and Education, both of which I am v passionate about.

Wish me luck!

Greens gain Bartlemas in East Oxford with a massive swing (Labour 2021, though Damian Haywood in previous St Mary’s division left to sit as an independent). Emily Kerr @emilykerr36.bsky.social is the new councillor.

Second attempt to post.
This is a regular visitor to Bartlemas Rd.
Blocking wheelchairs but also always has a brick under the front wheel so may have a defective parking brake.

Bartlemas Rd. With ‘vanity’ plate, essential for all urban 4x4s.

Cllr Emily Kerr (Green, Bartlemas), proposing an amendment, says “Labour’s raising of the bus cap from £2 to £3, while continuing to subsidise private cars, is problematic.” Emma Garnett (Green, Parks) says “ANPR cameras are not meant to be revenue-raising and would not raise enough funds.”

Only two sleeps until Bartlemas!
August 22, 2025 at 7:45 AM
Well done! ‘Bartlemas’, an interesting place name. Is it something to do with St Bartholomew’s Day (24th August) and the holding of fairs?
December 2, 2024 at 7:44 AM
Fellow Green @greenpartyemma.bsky.social is the City Centre Cllr and would know more, there are general plans for improved city centre. I’m meeting tree team in a couple of weeks to discuss highways planting in Bartlemas / East Oxford (my division). Up for helping water? The ones I planted last year

I’ve just learned that my new division, Bartlemas, has its own celebratory day: 24th August is Bartlemas / St Bartholomew’s Day & was particularly for printers (as the days shortened they traditionally got a Bartlemas payment for candles to work by).

Latest LTN data from doorknocking in Bartlemas, the County Division I am standing for. N=534.

55% say it has improved their road, 28% say neutral, 18% say it has worsened. Residents like LTNs!

I'd definitely vote for Emily if I lived in the Bartlemas division. I'll have to do the 2nd best thing and deliver leaflets for her instead. 💚
