We in bUnit took your last approach.
We aligned TFM with the package version, see: github.com/bUnit-dev/bU...
I also did this in some of my other smaller libraries.
For netstandard2.0, I would roll with the lowest required version - so 8.0.1 for your dep.

@xunit.net what changes if we (#bUnit) add the IAssertionException and ITestTimeoutException interfaces to our assertion exception types?
@steven-giesel.com and I tried to add the interfaces and when running tests we do not see a difference in the output either way.

It's has become very obvious how little that's changing on the surface in the #dotnet 9 release for #Blazor, by looking at the amount of changes we have had to make in #bunit. Constructor injection support, detection of render modes. The rest is internal improvements in Blazor (and there are lots).

Actually, isn't because of a poor code base, the dev team did an amazing job using Blazor Server, DDD and covering evth with Unit Tests, Integration Tests and e2e testing with bUnit. MudBlazor in the UI and the app wasn't bit.
I vaguely know that it's mainly because of the Development experience.

#dotnet friends, since #xunit v3 has a TestContext type, should #bUnit rename its TestContext to BunitContext in v1 (planned for v2) and make TestContext as obsolete?
That avoids the same naming conflicts that already exists with NUnit and MSTest.
And would it be considered a breaking change?

Correct, at least for bUnit I’ve been lucky to get co maintainers on board and the amount of work we have to do is manageable.
The problem is at the end of the day a lack of time. Full time job + full time family doesn’t leave a lot of spare time to OSS. Founding would need to be significant 1/2

Par- dva povrh cijene prosječne perilice. Volim kvalitetne cipele, ali Manolo mi ipak nije baš toliko drag😉
