not to beat a dead horse but they do this not out of some belief about maximizing electoral returns but out of an aversion to rhetorically committing themselves to doing something about epstein/corruption/ICE/whatever other issue they’re avoiding, should they win power back
The usual suspects are telling Dems that Epstein won’t win elections, get back to “affordability” and I think my head might explode. www.offmessage.net/p/force-a-re...
Force A Referendum On The Epstein Coverup
It divides Republicans much more than "affordability" or any other economic issue.

Dem leaders have got to get over their aversion to building homes for people.
After failing to stop a major state housing bill from becoming law, Los Angeles leaders are turning to plan B: Delaying Senate Bill 79's implementation and pushing for unspecified legislative changes next year. My dispatch for @politico.com Pro subscribers subscriber.politicopro.com/article/2025...
POLITICO Pro: Los Angeles failed to defeat a major housing law, so it's turning to Plan B: Delay, delay, delay
A report from the city planning department outlines strategies for pushing off many of the effects of SB 79 through 2030.

It's also a real issue, in the way "birtherism" and such weren't, so it doesn't even compromise progressives' aversion to gutter politics.

gotta say the courtier class's aversion to demanding accountability looks more than a little suspicious

i have such a strong aversion to pedophiles that i even chose to avoid dating teenage girls when i was a teenager. it was a principled moral stance.

*performatively ascending soapbox* many are saying!

coincidentally this is why food trucks are a good idea despite the bizarre aversion to them by locals
My primary complaint about downtown retail is the units are way too big and this keeps people from trying interesting higher risk concepts. Yeah it sucks that bodhi is so popular, but it would never have existed if it was forced to open in, say, the old Scotty's location

Per Bloomberg: “Bitcoin fell below $95,000 for the first time in about six months as a bout of risk aversion sweeping across markets saw investors pull nearly $900 million from funds investing in the token.”
Although the base of more stable investors has been expanding…

note that when someone talks about food aversion, or a caregiver of someone with food aversion talks about it, your common sense advice (make your own! Fake it with packaging! Buy this other brand!) isn't going to be helpful. It's not our first day. We've thought of it.

[P] Doesn't it show my aversion to violence when I keep shouting at the nerd I'm pummeling, "stop hitting yourself"?
Q: Given you answers about transparency, why are WH officials meeting with Boebert in an effort to get her to not sign the Epstein files petition?

LEAVITT: Doesn't it show transparency that members of the Trump administration are willing to brief members of Congress?

Good morning. Thought you might like to know that I am over my aversion to gulls after “ the day of the gulls” as it shall be forever remembered in my mind. 😂 Here’s a Herring Gull sitting on a cliff edge yesterday. I thought it looked majestic. #birds #photography #EastCoastKin

In 2015 I wrote that Trump, Grillo, Corbyn and UKIP were the revolt of people who hate being told it is more complicated than that. Tim's lovely piece discusses populism and the aversion to the cognitive effort needed to dismiss convincing-sounding bullsh1t. Free link above 2/

No matter how much I improve at creating video works and handling rendering in Blender, Maya, and Unity, and the more my capabilities grow, I still have a strong aversion to the complexities specific to VRChat. I know I absolutely must overcome this someday.

(I'm leaving this open to "everyone can reply" for now because I want cat pics, but because this is The Internet I hereby start the countdown to someone mocking my feigned aversion to "internet is for cats" jokes because they missed that this is itself an "internet is for cats" joke)

Today, for the first time, I cut my older son's hair without assistance.

He resisted the idea for MONTHS - partially because of his aversion to change, partially because he digs having "big hair" like me.

I slowly got him acclimated to the idea by showing him how to care for his own "big hair."

Sen Gary Peters is in his own way the biggest embarrassment of the lot. He’s been a leader of Team Cave and he’s retiring. So there’s no politics or risk aversion. He wants to cave as a matter of genuine principle.

The use of “picky eaters” within the book is to explain why I dislike the term, and how it’s frequently used to belittle folks with food aversion. However, your average person doesn’t necessarily know what “food aversion” is, even if they experience it themselves.

I’ve got recipes for spatchcocked bird, mashed potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese, and dinner rolls in my food aversion acceptance cookbook and guide COLOR TASTE TEXTURE. But I will probably never have a stuffing recipe, because nothing beats Vincent Price’s Wayside Stuffing. It’s my one must have.

"Why were they making zero effort to conceal their crimes in email correspondence?"

Well, for one you need an extremely stunted sense of risk aversion to become a criminal in the first place, and this precludes having the intelligence or foresight to make an attempt to cover one's tracks.
