Feel free to use it if you like!

I just took it randomly this afternoon with my phone.

Everytime I see raindrops on windows like this it reminds me of images that feature galaxies off in the distant and stars local to the Milky Way. I use this a lot as a depth perception analogy of astropics.

Astronomy Picture of the Day (Mar 8, 2004)

The crescent Moon and Venus create a striking conjunction over Corona Del Mar Beach, captured just after sunset on February 23.

I too had a hard time getting started, this app seems to really be driven by using tags. Start adding tags to all your photos and growth will be quicker. My favs to use, #photography, #astronomy, #astropics, #nature, #moon, #apollo, #moonmaps.

I have gained almost 100 in a week!

Orion Nebula captured with a manual dob 10. Not bad for a manual dobsonian and a smart phone.

Took some more astropics last night with my new telescope. These are the best I’ve ever made. Here’s the Horsehead Nebula and the Orion Nebula.

May 15 2022 ‘Super Flower Blood Moon’, was when the Moon was closest to the earth, in the spring, during a total lunar eclipse. The reddish hue comes from the sunlight filtered through the earths atmosphere, a bit like a sunset. #astro #lunar #moon

Some astropics I took last night from my backyard: On the left is the Orion Nebula (M42) and the Crab Nebula in Taurus (M1).

...putting that to one side, astropics are collections of data. Different technologies allow some data to be presented that would otherwise be imperceptible to the human eye. In short, what you see in an astro pic -structure/contrast/etc- exists, but some parts would be invisible without technology

I see mostly pics. Astropics mostly. And foxes for some reason. I must have liked one at the start. I'm skipping over text posts because I don't want it to be anything like twitter.

Oh my, thanks! There aren't enough astropics converted to what human eyes can see, so please share more if you see any 🙏

Welcome to the astronomy feed, @bensastrostuff.com - and: very nice astropics you took there!

Also yesterday, I collected some tiles for what I have named SLAM ("Slightly Larger Andromeda Mosaic"). Acronyms are important in astronomy! This is the first quarter (upper left quadrant) of what will hopefully be the final result. #astrophotography #seestar #astropics 🧪🔭

Yesterday, I collected some more light for M81. I'm really struggling with this one. This is the first time I have managed to bring out at least some of the details of the spiral arms, but it's hard! Probably needs even more exposure time. #astrophotography #astropics #seestar 🧪🔭

Yesterday was my first attempt to get a nice picture of the Andromeda galaxy, M31. Since it's really big in the sky, much larger than the Seestar S50 field of view, I tried for a mosaic with 9 panels. #astrophotography #seestar #astropics 🧪🔭

Yesterday’s #seestar exploits: adding to my collection of frames of Messier 51. This is the combination of all I have so far, from our rather bright (Bortle 5) location. I’m quite pleased with where this is going. #astroPics 🧪🔭
