As well as being called the Longford Cinema, The Longford Essoldo, the Stretford Essoldo, and The Top Rank Club, the building has been given the name "The Cash Register" because of its unusually shaped frontage.

The Regent Bingo Hall in Spalding, Lincolnshire, England.

It opened as the Savoy Cinema in 1937, but closed in 1970. It then operated as the Regent Bingo Club until a fire in 2021.

The Apollo Bingo Club in Rhyl, Denbighshire, Wales.

The building opened as the Odeon Theatre in 1937, and became the Astra Cinema in 1969.

A little trip back. The Philadelphia Naval Hospital was situated on Pattison Ave. It was closed in the 90’s and demolished in June 2001. It was a fine example of Art Deco architecture.

An original vintage 1950s signed sepia print of the Bullocks Wilshire building by famed LA photographer Fred Dapprich. Los Angeles based Fred R. Dapprich billed himself as a Pictorial Photographer who specialized in architectural, advertising and portrait photography. He was associated with other Los Angeles art photographers such as Milton Inman and is known to have photographed the Louise and Walter Arensberg foyer with sculptures by Brancusi, the dancer Zora, and for the Automobile Club of Southern California. "Fred Dapprich was a very well known man. He worked with Rudolf M. Schindler and some of the early architects. And Harwell H. Harris, too, for that matter -- because I remember seeing his name when I was first beginning association with these architects...the architectural photographers of that period were mostly specialists in interiors - and exteriors, of course, too - but they were good. They were the forerunners of some of the work that was done in later years." (Julius Shulman interview, 1990 Jan. 12 - Feb. 3, Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution). This print is of the famous Bullocks Wilshire building which is an Art Deco landmark in Los Angeles. Bullocks Wilshire, located at 3050 Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, California, is a 230,000-square-foot Art Deco building. The building opened in September 1929 as a luxury department store for owner John G. Bullock. Bullocks Wilshire was also the name of the department store chain of which the Los Angeles store was the flagship. This print measures 16.5" by 12.5" at outer edges. Stamped signature at back reads, "Fred R. Dapprich, Photographer, Los Angeles 26 California, "Pictures that Glorify" ". This photo will have to ship flat in an envelope between cardboard to protect it. In excellent vintage condition.
