It wasn’t planning dates and going “oh I guess we can’t go to bars”? Hearing anecdotes about high school? Telling her she was just so mature and such an old soul so clearly it was ok for her to be with someone twice her age? Figuring out how to dodge awkward conversations with her parents?

It means that I can tell the same jokes and funny anecdotes I've been telling for years because they're new to their partner AND I can watch my older friend roll their eyes in exasperation.
