Oh wow, what a way to find out!

I guess it would be AMNION, since it's the most well known of my work (as in at least twenty people)

Since it's a one man show . . . I'll have Paddy Considine as The Dweller

Cause it's the only character and he's a fave actor

And it'd be unique

So much disrespect for living things. Tuataras are the lizards that are so primitive that they're not even lizards! The amnion is what makes us amniotes. I'm going to write such a letter. 1/2

Thanks Eryn

This topic was true to my heart, since my first book AMNION has an elder protagonist

It seems to have had an effect on those who read it

Go on, read it

It's one of the most fun times reading something bleak you'll have

‘A kind of birth’ pulses with an earthy, tender life force. The imagery of fire and water mingling like blood in an amnion is beautifully visceral, capturing a rebirth that feels both ancient and immediate. I felt drawn to the natural intimacy woven into each line. #KeepWriting #PoemsAbout #Fires

For me it was when I did my first book Amnion

I took a subplot from an abandoned series I was gonna do and then saw where it took me

Listened to a lot of Akira Yamaoka, Nine Inch Nails, Portishead, Massive Attack to find a vibe and then wrote the first draft blind

I remember going into a trance!

They found that while AQP-9 protein expression was significantly increased in the vascular endothelium and amnion of both umbilical cord and fetal membranes in the diabetic groups, the gene expression was decreased only in the umbilical cord, with no changes in the fetal membranes.

🤔

AMNION - Chris Cunningham, beacause of his ability to use music to enhance horror

LOST WITNESS - Panos Cosmatos, since his cinematography and sensibilities would serve the sensuality and violence

KILLER KAGAMI - Chris Morris, as he's always combined comedy with horror & tragedy

Just like The Borg or the Amnion (if you know, you know). Truly evil.

This song also, at one point in it's evolution, was going to contain a quote from the alien beings called the Amnion from Stephen R. Donaldson's The Real Story, "Conformity of purpose shall be achieved through the mutual satisfaction of requirements."

Thanks again Matt, highlight of the week

This time I'll pimp my first book, Amni-om-nom . . .

It's proper good!

Has to be since it's the only one people have read and reviewed

And you can read it in one day too!

Thanks again Matt, always fun

I'll leave you with a review for my first book, AMNION, since that's the one a few people have actually . . . read?

Pretty good one to which I am eternally grateful for

#HorrorWritersChat question 1:

Hello I'm HD Beird. I suspect that the initials HD stands for Hypocrite Doctor.

Because I got the Oath wrong 😔

My proudest horror work would have to be my very first; AMNION.

It flowed out of me in the purest expression.

And it's the only one people have read 😑
#HorrorWritersChat question 1:

Introduce yourself: Tell us who you are, what you write, and tell us about your proudest horror work.

P.S. Don’t forget the tag!

Happy to share our latest preprint. We show that juxtaposing amnion cells with human pluripotent cells is enough to trigger gastrulation-like events. Great work by former student Xiangyu Kong now a postdoc in the Theunissen lab @washumedicine.bsky.social
