Supplemental briefs have been filed in Illinois v Trump. Responding to Court's question about meaning of term "regular forces" in 10 U.S.C. §12406(3), Illinois says, as @martylederman.bsky.social had argued in amicus brief, that it encompasses the regular military while Admin says it doesn't.

If 6 Republican Senators conspired with Ginny Thomas and the Proud Boys to plan and incite the Jan6 insurrection against a lawfully elected government, that needs to be brought out.

When the Senators sue, George Conway should file an amicus brief for discovery.

A group of retired senior military officers filed an amicus brief warning about the "politicization of the National Guard as law enforcement" and its harm to the "cohesiveness and reputation" of the military, according to Axios.

So where was FIRE when Florida banned teachers from using their correct pronouns and compelled them to use the wrong pronouns and honorifics in classrooms? Absolutely no amicus from FIRE in that case. The concern about compelled speech is horse shit.

They were joined in that amicus brief by the Manhattan Institute, a known anti-trans organization. As TMBG sang, "can't shake the Devil's hand and say you're only kidding."

BREAKING: A federal court ruled that the Trump admin violated federal workers’ First Amendment rights by adding partisan speech in their out-of-office emails. As our amicus brief emphasized, this ruling reaffirms that nonpartisanship is a bedrock principle of civil service. 1/3

The amicus brief your group filed tries to argue "its not targeted harassment of one trans student, its UNtargeted harassment of all trans people!"

Why wouldn't this argument fly with "its not targeted harassment of one black student, its UNtargeted harassment of all black people!"?

The Trump Administration continues to resist its responsibility to feed our residents. Every day they delay, families are at risk of going hungry.

We're urging the court to hold them accountable and deliver full benefits to the millions of Americans who rely on SNAP.

I'm adding my name to an amicus brief opposing USDA's appeal of the court order directing them to give people their SNAP benefits NOW. Why are they fighting to keep food out of American's mouths?

Thankful that Oregon has already started getting benefits flowing to people who need them right now.

So you're saying your organization did not sign on to this amicus brief, alongside the conservative Manhattan Institute, to fight for the cause of protecting the harassment of trans people? Please, explain what is actually happening here. I'm desperate to know.
