#amendments
Is the shutdown over? Not yet.
Tonight’s vote was only step 1 of 5.
There’s still another 60-vote hurdle, amendments, AND then the House.
Pressure matters right now—especially on Kaine, Rosen, Hassan, Shaheen.
Stay loud.

I’m back in D.C. to offer amendments to the Senate’s funding bill — amendments that put people first by protecting health care, SNAP, and the jobs of hardworking federal workers.

An exciting update! Mass Freedom To Read has been working overtime to get amendments filed that substantially strengthen this bill, and all the amendments have been filed! It's time to contact your MA senators to urge them to support the amendment: www.massfreedomtoread.org/news/cta-sup...

There’ll be a 50 vote Tuesday. Then amendments. Then a 60 vote Thursday on amendments. Then another 50 vote on amendments. Then a 60 vote Friday on final cloture. Then a final 50 vote.

We need laws and Constitutional amendments to prevent future Trumps from happening. Of course, laws are nothing without people to uphold them.

I am fascinated by the growing number of conservatives who claim I should be ‘denaturalized & deported’ because I am apparently anti-American (based on what?); these same folks who hate many of the core freedoms & rights in the American Constitution, including the 1st & 14th Amendments. The irony.

We’d get the promised ACA vote in the senate (unless Dems add it in the amendments portion), and then a discharge petition would force Mike Johnson to bring it to a vote on the house floor. Provided all the other stuff makes it in.

Republicans sued to block California’s newly-approved pro-redistricting measure, arguing the state violated the 14th and 15th Amendments by drawing congressional districts that “favor Hispanic voters.” They asked the court to invalidate the map.

A Senate vote on extending the ACA subsidies is supposed to occur the second week of December, but it is NOT A PART OF THE LEGISLATIVE TEXT.

The Senate still has to debate amendments & then vote for the final language. Then the bill has to go back to the House for a vote on final passage.

They're EXCELLENT amendments, my favorite of which allows creators to defend their books when they're challenged.

Practical amendments to provide safe and legal routes for refugees to reach the UK, and process the backlog of applications for asylum were voted on in the #HouseofLords tonight.

Sadly, you can probably guess what happened

No one has inserted anything yet. The amendments part starts tomorrow.

UPDATE! Several senators have filed amendments that, if passed, will significantly strengthen the bill! Please urge your senator to vote for Amendments 1, 4, 5, 6, and 18. This must be done before Wednesday, so the sooner the better. More details...1/5
URGENT Call to Action: The Senate version of the S.2696 is moving out of committee BUT this version does not include any protections for book creators and only contains weak first amendment protections. The timing is tight: please email your senator before Wednesday, Nov. 12! More info:

I mean if Johnson doesn't call the House back in session, then this vote in the Senate means nothing. Because the House has to vote on the amendments from the Senate.

We are going to need a slew of Reconstruction-like constitutional amendments including drastic reform of presidential pardons.
Trump’s pardon attorney Ed Martin claims Trump is pardoning his Georgia co-defendants and other “alternate electors.”

Note: Trump’s Georgia co-defendants are charged under state law. The president can’t pardon people for state crimes.

““It was Black people in the military, many of whom were enslaved persons, who freed this nation because of the Civil War,” Smith told The Informer. “It is because of Black soldiers that we have the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments to the Constitution.””
Veterans Reflect on Holiday Amid Trump Administration, Uplift Black Military Contributions
As Veterans Day approaches, Dr. Frank Smith highlights the contributions of Black veterans, while others express concerns about budget cuts and recognition.

Treasury has asked me to pay $561 to access the rationale behind one of their proposed amendments to the #FOI Act, and suggested as ‘Option 1’ that I pay by ‘Bank Cheque or Australian Money Order’. It’s great to see them on top of 21st century monetary technology 🤦‍♂️ . #auspol

The authorities are also considering a draft law that provides that no decision on deportation, readmission, or expulsion, when provided for by law, will be made in relation to such persons. Russian lawyers say the aim of the amendments is to keep foreign military personnel in Russia.

We're not ready to vote on the final bill, amendments can be attached, but why would you make a handshake deal with the party that wants to strip Healthcare from millions and starve the poor? #primary

The hearing is still going on. Listen here. I learned something. The Senate bill includes this: abcnews.go.com/Politics/pro...
Dems are proposing amendments for subsides, veterans healthcare, and more. They want to strip that lawsuit crap.
Call every Rep you can. Dem & gopmaga.
Call. Email.

When a party has supermajority status in the Mississippi Senate, it can more easily override a governor’s veto, revive bills that died on legislative deadlines, propose constitutional amendments and execute certain procedural actions.

After six years, Mississippi Democrats broke the Republican Party's supermajority in the Mississippi Senate, flipping 3 legislative seats.

Ending the shutdown was justifiable. The caucus did not justify it. Instead yall split for a insufficient deal that governors and house reps were vocally opposing.

There is still time to redeem yourselves by either getting good amendments or killing the cr.
November 10, 2025 at 9:09 PM
Y'know, the Constitution says that even amendments can't strip states of their equal representation in the Senate. But it doesn't say anything about the powers of the Senate itself being... reduced.

Sarah thinks that all y'all's amendments about speakerphone and video playing in public should carry, but it should be a lesser charge, so I will alter the proposal to create the offenses of felony phone noise in the first degree and felony phone noise in the second degree
