ive been playing am2r .. its been such a cool experience, ive replayed samus returns so many times and its so funny seeing familiar looking areas but completely recontextualized. The boss fights are kinda hit or miss so far though

With that said, I love how Samus Returns on 3DS and AM2R’s renditions of the theme encapsulate the same feelings but with added details. Like SR capturing the IMMEDIATE danger that’s fast approaching Samus, and AM2R capturing something a bit more hopeful, even with the knowledge of the series now

AM2R and the dev's insistence that he took a crappy black and white game and made it good infuriate me to do end, especially since a lot of that game's fans tend to shit on the original with the same language.

Honestly the main reason I didn't play am2r back in 2022 was cause I didn't have a good controller I could play on pc with at the time but I ended up liking metroid 2 so it worked out.

I tried it once, but literally the very first item I found was the magic key so that may have hampered my enjoyment a bit.
There's also a fan remake on PC called Zelda Classic, which has been around for decades and still never been DMCA'd. Yeah, AM2R gets nuked within hours but ZC still lives.

First time playing the original Metroid 2, I played AM2R instead back when I did my first 2D Metroid marathon. Anyway, game is kinda ass lol. Also figures that the first Metroid game I get 100% in is the one that doesn't display that in the results screen
